With only one addition; Chest could turn out to a really feral monster with the abilities that key has, which would make that monster pretty strong, and a challenging fight.

I mean, I guess to each their own. I wouldn't find it too annoying, I think it would be just enough to keep me on my toes and add a little variety to the otherwise monotonous process of grinding monsters, opening chests, and collecting loot.
