Vaal map and promenada map always gives the "decoded no data" error, other maps doesnt crash so often till the latest patch. Now the decoded message appears almost on every load :(

try:
a. update video and sound card drivers b. empty shader cache folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exile\ShaderCache c. try soft audio switch https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/51323 --softwareaudio |

"I was suffering from this problem also. Especially after last patch it happened very often. --softwareaudio switch fixed it for me. Yea it's only workaround, but at least game works again. So best bet is to try it first. I tried anything from drivers to reinstalling game, to regfixhack for creative BSOD (I never had BSOD though) without results, but was happy to see softwareaudio fix it completely. none of the workaround fixed it for me, x-fi too.

" Did you try adding -swa to your path on your shortcut? It should look something like this: Target: "C:\Program Files\Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exile\Client.exe" -swa See if that fixes your issue. It works for a lot of other people with Creative X-fi sound cards. |

I'm having this issue since I switched to an X-Fi a couple of weeks ago.
The software audio switch does nothing for me, it still keeps crashing. For now, the only thing to do it seems, is throw out the X-Fi. :( |

" Are you sure you typed the shortcut argument correctly? I notice that a lot of times, people who have problems don't type it correctly. They usually do something like -softwareaudio which is not correct, since the softwareaudio version requires two dashes so it says --softwareaudio. If you want to use only one dash, then it's just -swa. Please provide the exact shortcut you're using so it can be checked. The other option is to attempt to disable sound completely using --nosound. |
