Forums are very quiet....

the weathers changed, ive been down on the beach doing 5-10 mile walks ankle deep in the ocean 3 or 4 times a week. other than that ive been listening to audio books and painting in the evenings.

i really should go in and get my 24 challenges for the mtx things, but the sun is beating down outside, its full on lotion and sunglasses weather, kind of hard to justify doing anything indoors. lockdown + winter, fking hell, i need the exercise, been piling on those pounds init.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

I don't know what's the joy with cosmetics. That's akin to enjoying dressing barbie. If rewards were stash tabs, I might actually find it rewarding. Of course of course business is business.

IDK what's so spoiled but when trade is dead, there's little point playing. Furthermore, everyone got geared too easily this league.

Trade tends to slow after the first few weeks, that's been normal for most leagues.

When I say spoiled, I'm referring to leagues where player participation dropped dramatically even early on. Beastiary's implementation now is a huge improvement over how it was originally handled. I still have a bunch of the original nets sitting in a remove only currency tab. Suffice it to say, it was clunky and well before all these other past league mechanics were added, so there was not a lot to do.

Synthesis required storing multiple items with the same modifier or base (can't remember details) and map drop rates had been nerfed with the assumption the league mechanic would cover it.

Harvest was great for those who enjoyed it, but there was way too much micromanagement with the seeds and the rest of it for most.

This league, the actual league mechanic is just one of many. I've been playing it mostly like SSF only buying a few key items. It's not that there isn't stuff I'd buy, but that I'm not all that eager to pay certain prices, and I hate spending exalts in general.

Now while I don't think it was "too easy" to gear per say, its the first one where I didn't have to spend exalts to get a decent base six link. But a lot of what I've seen seemed overvalued too, at least as far as non-6 link rares go, like helms or jewelry.

Just to add perspective, this is the first league where 5-links were more or less trash. At least as far as I could tell. Every league I've done before I've pretty much had to switch to a 5link after the tab for at least a little while.

Yep, totally over league play.

Not sure which bit of the UK you're in (assumption on username) but we've had snow today. Winter's briefly back. Indoor pursuits fully justifiable.

Also, five miles walking in the ocean near us is liable to lead to frostbite any time outside August, save maybe in Cornwall...

im from london, but i live in northern ireland now. north coast alantic ocean, you just got to man up and get in there, its cold for a minute and then you get used to it. once ur in knee deep its fine. ive got sun tan lines from the last week.

ill go wading through that ocean from about mid march through till late octoberish, the weather was still holding up well into november last year but it does start to feel like ur wading through a slushpuppy by that point.

that was the beach the day before yesterday

snow sounds harsh for march, we had hail stones early this morning but the sun came out about mid day and stuck around. the air was colder today tho for sure.

You complained that league is dead because trade is dead.

I was explaining that your market tends to dry up after the first few weeks every league while also acknowledge the difference in gearing this league vs league's past.

Not all players run the same way. Most of us aren't spending a lot of exalts and a surprising amount barely make it to mapping let alone reds.

I myself run a lot slower than I should, but if I played "properly" going zoom zoom I'd lose interest after a handful of maps.

The last league that went the distance that I was around for was probably delirium, as people enjoyed building their herald stackers on varying budgets.

But as for this league, you're right there isn't anything particularly special. Hard to sell expensive goods when the folks on can't afford it or don't want to pay for it. I mean my EA ballista is pretty much running random gear I found myself aside from the bow (which I also got cheap) and a few hand me downs. I'm starting to lose count of the failed cyclone corruptions but instead of just buying one I'm still leveling multiples instead.

Essentially this is like a generic league, not horrid (to the point of requiring a flashback) but not particularly popular as the slower folk like me push their challenges.

I've sold dozens of 10-150ex stuff. So I don't know what you're talking about.

I'm pointing out people quit this league earlier than last league. You can look at steamcharts graph. Last league decline is slow, this league decline is fast.

At week4-5 I could already feel trade was dying this league, this is a lot faster than other leagues in comparison. I damn well know how trade slows down as league progresses, its just not this fast usually.

If you had been around that far back, you would see the difference in what the "dead" leagues looked like.

Even Delve had a flashback, and that was a reasonably popular league. Aside from the mechanic not meshing well with slower and less mobile characters, sulphite hadn't been smoothed out.

You sell "dozens" but you just complained trade is dead.

I got the impression last league was really popular. The league after a popular league rarely (if ever) does as well--burn out, new games, and other factors.

I wasn't arguing that this league didn't perform as well than the last, but that in the greater scope of things there's a difference between a "mediocre" league and "dead".

Even with the mention of the 5-links, you didn't grasp the underlying meaning yet complained about people gearing up too easily.

I found my first non-tabula 6link before finishing story and at least one more before getting to maps. In previous leagues I'd generally be deep into yellow maps at least if not reds before a non-corrupted 6-link dropped.

When 6-links become more accessible, it affects the market beyond just the body armor. Sockets and fusings lose their buying power (currency trading up), which in turn branches out farther. People become less reliant on the market and are able to find more of what they need on their own.

I only came back this league so i'm not sure how long currency has been dropping in stacks or when the 6 links became more widely available. But I can tell you the prices I've paid for some 6 links this league would be what I would have normally paid for a 5 link in the past. And while not having to invest so heavily into the body armor freed up currency to be invested elsewhere it also meant I could avoid spending it too.

I guess the fact that I didn't screenshot what was then a fairly common thing is proof of just how little I thought about the game's success in terms of player count. For me, it was already a success waiting to happen.
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I sold them weeks ago. When I saw trade going more and more quiet, I just stopped playing.

I started this game late, so I'm making comparison to past leagues within 1 year. Ritual was good. Scourge was ok. Harvest was good. Ulti, Exp were terrible. Actually I didn't play exp at all, i read patch notes and it was painful to read. So I didn't bother.
