Because of the 6.0% per second life regen on springleaf you can maintain righteous fire with a lower energy shield. This makes springleaf more versatile. Of course that's at the cost of less armor, less ES from shield (RotF has higher ES on it) and less max fire resist.


Thank you, i thought Rise of the Phoenix has 6.0% life regen too, but i didn't notice it has only 6.0 not 6.0%. :D


haha yeah, I thought that for several days as well until it finally clicked. I was disappointed.
Still, all the fire resist on phoenix and 2x all elemental resist and movement speed are nice. Just will require a higher ES.

I did a respec today and took quite a different approach.

Since the base crit chance of spark was heavily nerfed, i completely ditched anything crit related. Instead i went for cast speed and increased spell/lightning damage.

I also went for chance to shock (25% from passives + 13% from conductivity) which helps a lot - especially with single targets. Due to not having crits (chance to crit is at 5.2%) i have a very steady damage output.

The only downside is the tooltip dps, which is really low (mine is at ~600dps fully buffed with lvl17 spark/iir/iiq/fork/totem). The clear speed is really good (had ~1.1k tooltip dps pre 0.11 with crits and it feels faster now) and can be increased by using a faster casting gem (i removed iiq and put faster casting in and got to ~900dps - pure godmode in lunaris lvl3).

Rise of the Phoenix looks better exceot for one very improtant thing. look at the life regn on Springleaf. 6% of your total life. Thats huge ...and why everyone can sustain righteous fire.
Finally figured a way to kill piety as fast as pre patch...at least mathmatically. I need to actually test it out when I get a chance =)

Double curses should allow for fast piety kills. It is expensive to get the 2nd curse but its a HUGE increase in dps. Roughly 50% more dps assuming piety has 80 resist. Also, static blows is a must in my opinion so its not as far away as it used to be. The opportunity cost of less dps nodes should be fine since trash was super easy anyways and should still die at a compareable rate.

Im really bad at math, so I need someone to help break it down for which nodes are better for Dual Spork at which time. IE) Early level with crap gear / mid level gear / high end gear.

Like when are; Lightning Dmg nodes > Cast Speed > Crit > Crit Multi, and when does that formula change.

There's alot of options on places to switch nodes up or add as points come in. IE)TEMPLAR Elemental Dmg nodes & 40Mana regen, Body & Soul, WITCH-Lightning Weaver, Throat Seeker, SHADOW start nodes.

I'm waiting for exilepro to update their calculator, having to manage all the totals from skills by hands takes way too much time.

I'll probably work on a spreadsheet for damage calculations, it shouldn't be too hard. It's difficult to model such things as Static Blows, so it won't be perfectly accurate but it should be helping anyway in weighting spell dmg, crit, crit dmg and cast speed at very least. I plan to add an RF calculator too to choose between ES, life regen, IF or not etc.
If i ever find the time to do it rofl

EDIT: Found that android skill tree calculator in the play store (thread for thanks is in the general forum xD), it's updated and sums things up, already made all those discussed builds in it and (tomorrow, now i definitely need some sleep) will sort differences out and get some projected values (gear numbers based on me for now)

been considering this as well, would probably drop the nodes leading up to bloodthirst and heartseeker, since crit got nerfed anyway.

Also is ele weakness better than critical weakness? (Depending on your crit chance/multi, perhaps its not as good)
