Quin69 twitch ban
This should be interesting, and since he's been the biggest PoE streamer who's streamed this product during launch of leagues for weeks it's why I have to say some things.
1) This is great news for the rest of the PoE streamers since Quin69 without doubt was their biggest competition. It's very challenging for someone, especially a start up streamer to compete with those who've been accustomed on streaming for years, and on top have a team that help them boost their stream content. 2) The nature that Quin69 got banned it's one example, and a sad reality how humanity will have to continue going through a lot of suffering, and wars before it evolves to a better society, since that has always been the case. People make their rules, and as long as those rules are there to benefit some, while hurting others, and limit our freedom of speech they'll never persist. The internet everyday becomes less free, less places where one can express themselves, since despite being the "internet" every single site is privately owned by someone. Long time ago I was hoping one day our society will have its own "public" place to upload content, and discuss everything freely, because that's very important. If in few years from now there's over 70% chance you'll likely be murdered by someone would you want to know why that was the case? Example, someone developed a tech for the sole purpose to kill millions, and for someone to be that determined and successful, if they can do it humanity have to understand why or it will keep suffering, but sadly due to censorship only when the crime is committed then often the relatives of the victim in court are the ones who keep asking the person, WHY, WHY, WHY DID YOU HAVE TO DO IT, that is if that person is still alive. This world we have tomorrow it's always in the image from the victims of yesterday, because those are the ones who fight to protect what's theirs and what was stolen from them. I remember well how I felt when I was perma banned once in a game that I spent over a year to finally get to where I was, which was the first light jedi knight on the most populated server. I knew the time and effort I put, and after they perma banned me karma happened to that game and ultimately the company. Up until this day I remember who initiated the ban, and that's the thing about humans, they remember, which is why even if the world seems peaceful today it doesn't mean the wars have ended. 3) Quin69 got banned at a really bad timing, because Siege of the Atlas will deliver a content that comes annually to the game, and this will hurt PoE exposure. I'm confident Quin69 twitch ban will be lifted at least a month from now, due to his track record, and how other streamers bans got lifted for similar things, but still for the time being as long as his ban last, all I can say is ENJOY competing with rest of the PoE streamers, because they are far lower quality in terms of entertainment, and sadly because this game has remained as "just a game" it's why entertainer is all you need to be, nothing more. Finally, remember Method, and later Activision-Blizzard? The only other new game I enjoyed enough to spent $ on in the last 11 years was called Marvel Heroes Online (Omega), and Disney cut its ties with Gazillion, and you can google to see why. One thing I've learned about humans is due to the nature of our society it's why everything becomes OK, as long as one can get away with it, but that's the thing, if you in fact hurt somebody and they are aware that they have the most powerful thing called a bucket list, and you end up being in the top three there, good luck, because it's not just you, people can still lose "other things" they wouldn't want that matter to them even if they're long gone from this world. What happened to Quin69 makes Twitch looks really bad, and it also hurts this industry, and some of the companies I stated above, and games I've enjoyed that been also impacted by the same thing it's why people have to really think through what they're doing, because their action will have consequences. If there's an "actual" victim out there, it's quite simple what that victim should do, which is go immediately to police, submit evidence (if possible) and report the crime, that's simple. Major shoutout to Marvel Heroes, game is a top 3 of all time for me.
(Wasn't a fan of the Omega patch, but it didn't ruin the game at least.) |

I just found out that Quin69 ban duration was only two weeks, so yes he got away lightly and GGG got fortunate his ban will be lifted days before 3.17 launch. That's also the thing, the correct term should be "suspension", because that's what it is, ban is something permanent or very long.
I was confident it was going to be at least 30 days, but given the release of 3.17 it's why I think someone interfered, and did something to reduce it. Still, after this suspension Quin69 won't be as "entertaining" as he was before, because he'll be second guessing everything he says, and how that could impact his career, which is a bad and sad thing to witness. " Apparently he got caught in a controversial topic and couldn't stop having quin takes. (in order to prove chat wrong or something) Then someone clipped it and twitch thought he's a misogynist. That's what I read from his twitter stuff, but could be wrong. |

" He released a YT vid on that showing what he did and said, if you really wanted to know. Its not even that controversial I think, if you apply common sense. If you dont, well then its wahmen-hating wrongthink and has to be punished. |

Ok, thanks for the answer :)
Twitch is already doomed, they promote nude-like girls on their site and flag men streamers when they show a tit. This platform is just a clown fest ... Edit : if GGG doesn't kinda force us to watch streams to gain MTX, i would not see any of Twitch content. Last edited by moumout#4809 on Jan 15, 2022, 3:32:25 PM
