I mean data per user.
Can see how often do a single user ( in this situation I ) use this forum, in which ours ect.
I asume you counted it yorself ? there is no forum tool to count it ?

No. I had to tabulate that data myself based on the times people posted to the forum. For example, my data currently says you've made three posts. Two on Jan 21 at 8:57am and 9:54am EST and one on Jan 22 at 2:44pm EST. Obviously, you have posted more since then but my data is only current as of Jan 23.

I have all the data for each account so I can derive these statistics for specific users. Even though it's public I didn't want to go showing specific account information without some sort of request or permission.

One thing to account for when looking to see who has returned is how many guests are viewing pages at any given time. Often when I frequent certain forums, if I haven't setup my account to automatically log me in (or if for some reason it doesn't anyways which has actually been the case with certain sites in the past) I am reading forums as a guest even though I have a legitimate account. I am one of those persons who reads and lurks far more than he posts, as well as the kind of person who won't bother to log in to post something socially trivial if I must log in.

In short, many guests are registered users who aren't logged in and who likely aren't as interested in posting as others.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: If you don't log in then it doesn't count. It's like telling your teacher or boss that you actually did do the work even if you didn't turn it in. It doesn't count. If you did not log in, then you did not visit the website. There are no alternatives or exceptions.

You could keep track of how many hits the server gets per day. That's a relatively flawed metric and is only useful for general trending at best. You could track IP addresses to try to nail down repeat viewers but that's also impossible. Most ISPs use variable IP addresses so every time a person logs on to the internet, they are given a different IP address. Not to mention most people regularly use several different computers in different locations throughout the day. The server also cannot see past a company or school router. So if the server gets 100 hits from a particular college campus, the server has no way of telling if it's 100 hits from one person or one hit from 100 people.

These are the very simple and basic reasons why all internet websites encourage people to make user accounts. User accounts can be tracked very easily and without them usage data is practically impossible to obtain. This is the reason why if you did not log in to the PoE website then (as far as anyone else on Earth is concerned) you did not visit the PoE website. No exceptions. No excuses.

Like I said, daily unique hits doesn't give you any information beyond general traffic trends. That's all. As I already explained, unique hits is not the same thing as unique users. Don't get me wrong, daily traffic volume is important to keep track of but it's a very very blunt and imprecise tool.

I know what you mean but for webmasters (not game developers) daily unique hits are everything. Users mean nothing. Ofc if you don't market something in your sites. (it's a game in this case)
