The one who is worthy uses reverse alphabetical order. The one who doesn't use reverse alphabetical order isn't worthy." - Grunf "I am The Banisher, the ill will that snuffs the final candle." - Seal of Doom (MTG)

How about based on geographic location?
The closer you are to GGG the sooner you play. |

" Despite how that would be great for me, I think they would want a range of locations in order to test how well the game plays for them all, ensuring it is playable and nobody lags badly |

DataDataData (Again!)
Round two. You thought 4 graphs were cool LAST TIME. This time there are 10! This data is accurate as of sometime yesterday (January 23, 2011). First let's look at the same stats we looked at last time and compare. Check out the new graphs HERE. The first thing that's immediately obvious is that there have been a lot of new accounts made (over 2000 actually) in the past several weeks since we last looked at the data. Last time we were averaging around 17.5 minutes between new accounts (82.3 accounts per day). Recently we've been averaging around 8.1 minutes between new accounts (118 accounts per day). That's a pretty substantial increase. Otherwise the numbers have remained relatively similar. The number of accounts that have viewed the forum in the past two weeks has dropped 3% since last time but the number of repeat viewers has remained pretty constant (662 now versus 648 then). More interestingly, last time 80% of accounts had not logged in since they were made. This time the percentage has dropped to 78%. That shows some modest growth in community interest. That 2% is a difference of 182 people who decided to come back again. Let's move on to some new ground check out these graphs made with forum data HERE. The first graph tracks the number of posts each day in the forums since the game was announced. You can easily see that forum activity has been increasing nicely over the past several months. Overall, there's been an average of 37.7 posts per day but recently we've been averaging about 70.8 posts per day. The second two graphs are more of a novelty. The first shows the percentage of account names that start with each letter of the alphabet. If your account name starts with S, M, or D then you're a sheep. If your account name starts with Q, U, or Y then you're a weirdo. The second graph shows the percentage of accounts with different name lengths. Nothing too out of the ordinary with the distribution. Humorously, someone made an account name with 30 characters. The third graph shows the time of day that new accounts are made. All times are EST (GMT-5). You can see a definite drop around 3am EST. That time roughly corresponds with North America being asleep, Western Europe just waking up, and East Asia still at work. The handful of peaks later in the day I believe correspond with evening time in these three major regions. The fourth graph shows the time of day that new forum posts are made. Again, times are EST (GMT-5). This correlates very well with the previous graph which is completely unsurprising. We can see how widely distributed the forum community is geographically. No region really dominates the forums. The fifth graph shows how many threads contain a certain number of posts. There are 418 total threads in the forums. On average, threads receive 13 posts. Nearly 30% of threads have 3 posts or less. When I count the number of posts, I include the initial post that started the thread. So when I say that 11.5% of threads only have 1 post, that means 48 threads have not received any sort of reply. The final graph shows how many posts contain a certain number of words. There are 5389 total posts on the forums. On average, each post has around 67 words. About 10% of all posts contain ten words or less. The longest post came in at around 1300 words. ------------ That's it for this time. If you need anything clarified or want me to calculate something else then let me know. Forum Sheriff
