Is the BETA released?

number of posts should mean jack, quality of posts however

if we go by numbers it will generally be the trolls who think the game belongs to them and no one else in the beta ;-)

Have to scratch the math geek itch somehow.

Truth. I'm an engineer so I crunch all sorts numbers for a living. Coding a program to pull all the data and run the calculations on it was a snap. Took a few hours one evening. The longest part was waiting for it to pull the data from 7000 different accounts.

I'm a network admin, and spent all of today writing a new tool in c#. The last thing I want to do when I come home is more of that. (Though I will admit I often have to make myself remember to eat lunch, and sometimes get in trouble with my wife for staying a bit late.)
Reminded me of a joke:

A programmer is sent to the supermarket with instructions to "buy butter and if they have eggs then buy a dozen." Returning with 12 butters, the programmer says, "they had eggs".
"I am The Banisher, the ill will that snuffs the final candle." - Seal of Doom (MTG)
I have always thought that the "correct" programmer reply to this would actually be "A dozen what?"

I would agree on this, seeing as the limited time i have infront of the computer, with 2 kids, fulltime job etc. I often only get to read every bit of new posts without posting anything of quality, so this should make me less worth for a beta key? I really hope this isnt the case, because poe is the one game im looking very much forward to.

+1 for agree
-1 for disagree

That's all it takes for GGG and other forum users to profile you :o))

Well yes, few of us already made over 150 posts (aka securing beta-key :o))

GGG, can we have "Posts Ranking" on website main page? Nah, better not.

i'll agree you have added some interesting disscusions, but a post ranking is a bad idea. SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSPPPPPPAAAAAMMMMMMMM.
thats all i'll say in the matter.
Yes good sir, I enjoy slaying mythical creatures.

The second graph shows a histogram of post totals. It tabulates how many accounts posted a given number of posts. You'll notice that only 0.83% of accounts have 10 or more posts while only 3.45% of accounts have posted anything at all. Another interesting fact is that 5670 accounts (or 80% of all accounts) have not even visited the forum since the day they were made. This is good news for those of us aiming to get into the early rounds of the beta.

You are right about the chances for early beta rounds idea.

However, in terms of understanding how many people visit the website, you ignored the fact that many people, me included, visit the website almost daily, but don't login so the stats are misleading.
Of course, not logging in, and not posting often enough may mean that we won't get a good shot at entering early beta.

Personally, I only post when I really need to know something or think that I would honestly enrich a conversation.

But that is besides the point...good work with the calculations

If you don't log in then there's no way to prove you were here at all. The fact that you posted though puts you 'ahead' of the vast majority of account holders. In a more general sense, I only have access to the data publicly displayed on the site so there's no way for me to tabulate how many unregistered people view it.

Ultimately, there's no way of knowing what system the developer's will use to decide who gets beta invitations and I think everyone needs to keep this in mind. They could choose specific people or they choose people randomly or they could use some sort of algorithm that accounts for participation in different ways. There are a million options and no guarantees.
