An Unexpected Consequence of A New Generation of Gaming Hardware.
" There's no reason to suddenly stop doing it your self. You literally just screw things down and plug things in. You need a "specialist" to do this? I don't follow. Sounds like a long winded way of saying you don't know how and prefer a prebuilt. I'd bet your " Falcon Northwest" pc with who knows what in it because you won't say, is not very good or at least has questionable part choices you wouldn't have picked given the opportunity, and would have been cheaper to put together your self. So 50/50 on the modem thing. You'd think someone would test this... Now that I mention it...I've never even seen PoE tested on any hardware anywhere for that matter. Like AMD vs nVidia video cards or intel vs AMD chips. It's all guesswork but I'm "guessing" issue lies at GGGs doorstep since every other game runs fine on my PC.

I started played game when dail up was a thing, & never in my life have the need to know what modem I have to play a game.
Outside of needing 10 diferent apps, discord & marco, you apparently need to also have the correct modem. None of all the other games required more than the game itself. |

" The reason for that is that the game is simply not deterministic enough to allow for a good test scenario. Also, it is way too unstable, we all know that. Doing a proper test for it would be a massive pain in the ass (you could maybe test performance in a hideout, but that is about it, and it doesn't tell you all too much about real in-game performance). I've seen a test of Wolcen, but I haven't seen one of PoE. It just isn't stable enough. Remove Horticrafting station storage limit.

" has nothing to do with graphics obviously, but modems can be a huge bottleneck for general online gaming performance. if its giving you a slow or more importantly unstable connection you will experience lag, stutters and freezes even if your connection seems "fast". its surely not the first thing to fix if your whole setup is on the bottom end in general but a lot of people neglect the quality of their modem way too much while running 3k computers lol |

PoE performance showcase clip... features a Sirus fight? Really? Sirus to demonstrate PoE performance? This has to be a satire thread in disguise, no way you're unironically posting this.

TL:DR: The metric that retailers and manufacturers use to market modems and catagorize them by power is literally the rate at which they are capable of transmiting data both up and down the line... in other words... your modem is a bent plastic stir stick for coffee and my modem is an active fire hose of data. It literally matters a LOT. you can get triggered and call me stupid... but I am right.
From a purely mechanical standpoint the Sirus fight is a pretty great example of the impact of just getting a better modem. Its controlled, its persistent, there are always only two things to track, sirus, and you. there are also many phase changes... triggering these is data intensive. Hit interactions are data intensive, degen locations, dot damage, storm tracking. all of these things always occur in the same concentration... it is always just you... and sirus and no confounding variables. I am literally a scientist in real life, you are going to have a very hard time convincing me that my test isn't valid. Furthermore, are any of you aware that the metric which retailers and manufacturers use to market how good their modem is... is the rate at which it can send and receive data. My old modem could pull like 4 MBS down even though my ISP could provide me no like "600+" Which the more I learn about how the internet works the more I question entirely. With this in mind... My old modem I don't know about, I'm honestly just pulling that number out of thin air and basing it on the BitRate I was getting when I would broadcast to Twitch which would distort enormously when I would exceed 4000 bitrate (Aka 4mbs up). My new modem can run circles around that bitrate and now Pumps out crystal clear images with no issue at 10,000 bitrate (10+ MBS up) and it taunts me, "Make it 20k... you wont... coward". It saddens me how many of you just want to throw about an entirely uneducated opinion and label it fact then try to convince me I'm some kind of GGG simp (UwU I AM). Try to keep an open mind. does it suck to say to the internet, "This game sucks because its so unstable" and then have the internet say back... "Uh... lol no it isn't" Is frustrating, especially when that remark gets followed up with a, "Thats a problem you can just throw money at" in a time where maybe a lot of people are struggling with money. But in all seriousness... your modem has a maximum data transfer rate that might actually be appallingly low if it is an older modem and it would not be surprising if it was a blind spot for many players. Another thing.
If you freeze when you open a legion... its your modem If you freeze and crash when you encounter the Harbinger swarms in Valdo's... its your modem. If you game freeze every sigle time sirus's projection casts literally any spell... its you modem. Spawn a huge pack of beyond... Modem Immortal Syndicate Spawn and freeze... Modem Line up a crispy one tap on an enemy PMC and crash to desktop when you pull the trigger and the game client and server interaction goes OMEGALUL that PMC ran past like 45 seconds ago... its literally your modem. I really mean it. even if you have a Thanos with all 5 stones PC literally bristling with 16 RGB LEDs and bubbling with only the coolest and clearest of liquid coolant... it cannot exceed the data transfer of your modem... ever I have never felt further from what I know and love
