Harvest is great "crafting revised" and should be kept in the game

Harvest is best addition to the game in 3.13.

Old crafting is not crafting at all, it's casino and gambling. Some people mention that is takes 5000ex+ to make perfect items and it is absurd and non-healthy to the game, because to make 5000ex+ you have to abuse something hidden (like winged scarab imprints by Empyrean team and VOC). You can't farm that much by playing the game in intended ways (I did fractured maps this league, which is top tier intended farm).

Now with Harvest making good item takes like 50-100ex, which is much more affordable and healthy for the game. It's still a lot of time and currency investment to make single good item, but it affordable amount of time, which makes crafting accessible to more players. Also 50-100ex is still a lot for casual players to get, the game shouldn't be balanced around playing 20 hours per day for 3 months.

Just like Betrayal was masters revised (remember Vorici missions? now imagine those in modern Path of Exile), Harvest is crafting system revised. I hope it would stay as it is for the game lifetime, or in the best case scenario, will get Harvest orb added to be able to trade crafts without 3rd party discord.

Old crafting has no place in modern PoE, just like old master missions, and people who are salty about that are mostly super rich players who aren't smart enough to adapt to new system and still make money. I don't think that game should be ever balancer around super rich players, who by definition abuse some system to get that rich instead of playing the game.

tl;dr Harvest makes crafting accessible to middle segment of the player, taking it away from super rich ones, and it great.

If harvest stays as-is, the game will be rebalanced so that perfect t1 influenced items become mandatory for running any endgame content. Already, the entire game has shifted to revolve around harvest and most other mechanics are becoming pointless.

What’s happening is terrible: this is far from a great equalizer taking power from the rich. Instead, it’s simply out of control powercreep that will ultimately hurt the game for the vast majority of players as GGG is forced to rebalance around it.

Nothing that isn’t perfected by harvest will have value. The same copy/paste perfect explodey chests will be required by all - and no build that can’t take advantage of the small suite of overused influenced mods will be viable. All drops that aren’t l86 influenced crafting bases may as well not exist, ruining itemization. The rich will benefit from new heavily gated items that GGG introduces, and they’ll need those items to run any of the toughest content.

GGG cannot continue to allow their game to be trivialized by a single Discord community totally outside of their control. Harvest needs to be nerfed hard. Either some way to stop rapid trading needs to be introduced or, more likely, options like t1 and influenced mods, or targeted annuls, need to be removed from the harvest pool entirely.

I love deterministic crafting as a concept. But introducing a way to easily force perfect gear just isn’t crafting at all. What mid-level players need are ways to invest in making solid t2 non-influenced items, not guaranteed godly gear.
We're all in this leaky boat together, people.

I agree with what this other guy said. But I think the solution is a little different. They can leave Harvest as is. But they will need to introduce another tier of mods that cannot be accessed by Harvest. This way a Perfect Harvest item will still not be a Perfect item. Then they will of course balance the game around the new tier of mods that cannot be accessed so that harvest crafting will become a good stepping stone into the highest tier of gear in the game. But leaving harvest as a method of perfecting items isn't good for the game at all.

And to be clear the 'other tier' doesn't have to be a strictly higher tier. The majority of the 'other tier' of mods can act as parralel tier of mods that are very good. But impossible to combine with Harvest mods. So that players would have to choose whether they want the good harvest mods or the non harvest ones. the other tier could also be a form of psuedo deterministic crafts. Or not. Or it could be a higher tier. Whatever. But to be honest this perfect harvest gear is boring. A dude showed me a +2 gems amulet with chaos resist, life, and other things. And it was just one big yawn for me. because all the mdos were perfect

I also love harvest and want it to stay.

That said, PoE is balanced according to the top few people and their perfect items. Harvest allows these people (and only them) to create these perfect items much quicker than before.

So, Bear's suggestion is a good compromise: Limit harvest crafts such that not all most desirable crafts or their tiers are available. Then you can also allow bigger craft storage, more frequent harvest encounters, etc... which benefits us normal players, too.
May your maps be bountiful, exile

Would you elaborate what is your problem with people having easier way of crafting gear?

You feel less special? What is it?
