HH?

And AoC sounded ok at first but after seeing the combat I got put off, the insane eye cancer of high fidelity super thin sharp effects made it look like a clusterfuck space shooter. No rpg soul in it. Even GW2 was better than that sadly and that's a low example of comparison.

Headhunter.
Chris said in the interview that they aren't removing HH from the game/nerfing it.
This went in a weird direction.
what did u expect from a PoE MMO? :D

HH would always be a thing according to Chris.
He thinks it's fun item and I completely agree with him.

they keep HH because most ppl RMT to get it and that makes tencent money.
If they released a free to play MMO tomorrow you would all play it, don't kid yourselves.

Can honestly say I wouldn't.
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.
This sounds like a good idea

So did "New Coke" and fidget spinners

New Coke was a famous, spectacular failure, costing somewhere around 30mil USD circa 1985; fidget spinners made a whole heap of cash, but came and went per your usual too-simple-to-be-true fad.

So...New Coke was a bad idea handled very badly; fidget spinners were, albeit annoying and gimmicky, sort of brilliant, business-wise.

Neither really sounded like good ideas though. I was there for both...

I see no need to sugar-coat a PoE MMO in this case. It doesn't sound like a good idea at all. MMOs are very costly to make and maintain, and I'm pretty sure TencentGGG already has one of those, and I'm equally sure most of us have our concerns regarding their ability to sustain even that on an acceptably functional level.

There's a reason most devs that make and run an MMO typically focus on that one game, unless they're huge to begin with -- which, like or not, TencentGGG still is not.

PoE *is* TencentGGG's one game. And in some ways, it's just as demanding to run as any MMO.

If you want an MMO... go play an MMO. Stop taking the lack of good MMO-frustration out on other game genres.
But... this game is an MMO.

The game survives entirely on supply and demand, and players interacting with each other to keep the system running. The whole system would collapse if nobody traded. Just because you may not party up with players very often (outside of trading), doesn't mean the game's not an MMO.

MMORPG? That's a different story. I'm a very picky player when it comes to those, most end up having shitty WoW/Eve-like combat that's boring to engage in. PoE MMORPG would have to have combat at least as engaging as Guild War 2 to make me want to play it.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

And the winds will cry / and many men will die / and all the waves will bow down / to the Loreley
