Can you level to 100 without Kitava's death?
I don't know if it's worth stoping story quests before A5 kitava to habe 0 ress - A6-A10 (besides A10 kitava) gives a lot of passive skill points, which is more valuable than 30ress (like 2-3 per act from quests, so that's ~12 passives).

" I dunno. 30 max resists seems fairly high. I think builds spend points just to patch up that loss in other ways right? Like getting a keystone or multiple notables. |

" Depends where your tree goes I'd imagine. I know in the templar area there's 12 from Holy Dominion, then there's the 3 nodes of Fire/cold/lightning that are all 15 each. Even with me pathing out of my way a bit that would only be 9 points to get 27. You'd still have 3 points of those 12 to spend elsewhere. But that's just in this one area, it could be more viable elsewhere. Though the trade off for no kills VS just skipping the final kill seems to lean towards 1 kill. Unless you wanna push this meme to the max. Really loving all the out of box thinking you all are bringing in. Thanks to everyone that's joined the conversation. |

I would say if you level with Delve or Heist, don't do it to try and circumvent resists or avoid the EXP penalty (you're going to already be well into late red maps by the time that is most relevant anyway), do it because it's kind of fun to have a long Delve session as a pre-mapping character and get rather built up quickly. Lets you do Labyrinths early too, which is nice.
If you still insist on using Heist as a way to avoid EXP penalty, the thing to keep in mind is that you can farm for contracts without needing to run T16 maps with mods like you do for Niko missions, and running mods on contracts isn't that great so you can run those without mods as well. I believe it's the robots that are most likely to kill you with the enemies that shoot laser beams but even those are telegraphed in the sense that they'll appear whenever you open a reward chest or open the glass case so it's possible to avoid those or ambush them as well. You're never going to fully avoid the EXP penalty just like a hardcore character is never going to truly escape death even with a logout macro, but there are precautions that can be made to go a tedious and slow but safer route. |

" A lot depends on your ascendancy, endu charges etc., some gets ressists naturaly (chieftain, necro, jugg, etc.). But really, getting ress caped was never an issue, unless it's a very meme build that uses uniques only. But if you have free rings in the build, you can use 2 120res rings (which isn't hard to get), such 2 rings will cover most of your ressists. But as a trade off - with 12-14 passives you can take half full cluster (which is way better then 30ress on gear). But really depends on the build. |

I did a test . I leveled a char to level 48 (stopped after killing Innocence) then i got into delve at a depth with 63 level mobs and let myself killed . I lost 5% exp .So i can only assume at a depth with mobs level 83 you will still lose 10% exp just like in maps , no matter if you kill Act 5 Kitava or not

pretty sure xp loss is based on the area you are in
