Actually, this would be much cooler if every MTX effect in shop has options to change color to whatever color you like. Like you know - automaton lightning warp red effect to green,for example and etc.

Not sure who plays Wolcen anymore but they had an outstanding dye system for virtually every piece of gear. In fact a lot of games have a dye/color system that is free.

Here you still pay $10 - $20 bucks to essentially change 1 color. Part of that is because GGG has some long and laborious process to produce 3D skins. Years ago they had a post on that process (I am too lazy too dig up) but instead of sounding impressive, to me it sounded slow and outdated.
