I'm sure that's part of it, I'm a d2 vet myself and man, I remember being scammed back in like 2001-2002 and never forgot. Yes I sometime take like 20-30 sec during an important trade to audibly name the damn important stats of an item JUST to be sure it's the proper item, especially in this league where I trade for various cluster jewels for my necro and occultist.
- 2 jewel socket > yup
- notable 1, 2 , 3 -> yup
- uncorrupted -> yup
accepted.

but karma works, and i 6 linked it afterwards
So in other words oldtimer you are just accepting games with cheats, scams etc.

Well Im not, and I belive that is cureable.

Just some determination from GGG, but yea Im the kid whos first pc game was DN3D

How, can u tell how old am I? I wont ask If your brain function well, because u probably want to keep it for yourself.

But even small information from GGG about banned accounts because of scams in POE, would prevent lot of this shitheads of doing that what they doing right now. Because they would be AFRAID.

And yeah I know that mostly its my fault.

Banning accounts doesn't actually do much at all, because accounts are free, and most of the scammers aren't using their main account to do the scamming.

The only way scamming will stop is if there is no longer any reward in doing it, and that will only happen when people stop falling for the scams.

It's not ggg's fault so don't be angry at them.

Can we please stop the ass...you know what ?

Of course it's GGG fault, because this happens in POE .

Remember back in the days the anihilus scams ? Blizzard made anihilus so it can be traded and so on.

OF course you still had to hover over items they couldn't go around that, but they were limited by time and technology. A thing that GGG hasn't been improving this whole time.

They should really think about this and at least try to do something. I do not know what and I do not care but something definitely.

Maybe if Chris Wilson acts as arbiter between the trading parties ? Maybe that would help ? I mean people could just use their eyes, but I agree that might be too much to ask for. We play computer games because we want to relax and recover from our hard working days. I should not need to pay attention to anything when playing PoE. I bought a currency tab back then least they could do is provide a proper trade broker that I can trust with my business.

Virtually all other online games have been successful for the past 20+ years at preventing basic scams like this. GGG system is literally a playground for scammers. Sorry you lost your exalteds, that is so lame.

you are joking right.. name one game that has/had online trading and no scammers and a healthy player-base.

Most games since 20+ years have a simple trade confirmation screen before trade proceeds, both players get a screen that says "you are trading XYZ for ABC" then they have to click "accept" to proceed with the trade, this simple and obvious system prevents at least 99% of bait and switch scams. Poe system is essentially the same as not having any final confirmation for the trade. Did you ever notice how when you purchase something online there is a final confirmation screen that details the terms of the purchase?? These are just basic concepts of online trading both in game and IRL and it requires imo some degree of intentional choice to not implement simple standard concepts like this in an online trade system.

So you can't name one game that had no scamming in it..

Seriously, how many conformation screens/boxes do you want?

1st confirmation: hover over, means they want to make sure you check the item/amount you buy....

2nd confirmation: Are you sure you want to accept what you hovered over?

Do you really think this person wouldn't not be scammed if they added a 3rd confirmation box and a 4th and a 5th... really...

The problem is not limited to POE. Nowadays a lot of people are not able or willing to take responsibility for their own actions. It is always the other party that is to blame.

As others have stated already. The POE trading window is actually foolproof. You have to confirm the trade twice.

The opposite would actually happen. The more checkboxes you have to go through, the more likely people will just try to get past of all the annoyances as quickly as possible; making bait and switch scams even easier. The only thing that helps is if people pay attention to what they are buying like explained plenty of times in this thread.
yeah trading in this game suk
and GGG does nothing against scammers unfortunately.

kind regards

Something I have tried very hard to have my kids understand.
