Phys builds suck, don't bother

Critical is in a pretty shitty state right now. Weapon elemental damage support gem assisting a pure physical weapon and just scaling off ele auras adds more damage than increased critical chance + increased critical strike combined.

20% crit, 480% multiplier

I wish I could run % auras on my melee char but since he is using BM it is no possible. Haste would be absolutely lovely on my physical build, Hatred would be an option as well.

I will surely get to a point when I take out some of my physical damage nodes, or just level up enough, that I will be able to pick up Catalyst node.

I need to find 6L chest or weapon, at which point I will be able to switch to BM support gem instead of BM keystone, which would open opportunity to run auras off mana. MMMMMM 6L...one day....
what is bm?
Melee will get better, no doubt. There are new melee support gems coming out soon, too.

really, really hoping that this incoming patch they introduce some kind of gem like
Melee attacks ignore % of enemies armour
fairly sure the main reason damage sucked (no NOT the dps tooltips) was because my weaps were too fast so I was hitting a lot but 50-70% of my damage was just being straight up mitigated by the enemies armour.

Isn't the whole point of a "physical" build that there are a ton of elemental things that scale based on physical damage? The added fire damage gem for example, it does more the more physical damage you do. Maybe elemental damage nodes could possibly add more but I haven't actually done the math. There are several physical damage nodes that make you do 12-18% more physical damage.

I was just under the impression that "physical" builds were not trying to do only physical damage, but instead that is just the stat they buffed.
im surprised no one even noticed one of the biggest problems of this build

its a sword wielding using RT. thats a HUGE no no.

the point of RT is that it makes you have 100% to ignore enemy evasion. (not 100% chance to hit, cuz enemies can still block)

and sword's innate ability is to increase accuracy.

with accuracy being ignored. why would you use a sword? your reducing your damage and gaining no benefits at all.

instead you should be either using an axe for the added damage cuz the axes has the highest base damage out of all weapons, or use a mace to increase your stun potential.

using a sword with RT is just giving yourself a handy cap.

and we should really change our idea what a "physical build" should be. cuz not taking any elemental factors into account is silly since those are just added damage, instead we should think of physical builds as ones that do not use elemental conversions. such as lighting strike or lighting arrow, or anything like that where it converts a % of your damage into another element.

and this is not the same as hatred or added fire since those add damage based on your physical damage. not convert it. so in short its a build that keeps 100% of your physical damage, 100% at all times.

plus its not like theres any benefit at all what so ever to keep 100% of your total damage physical either, nor is there any penalty for having elemental damage either. its not like theres an armor penetration ability or effect.

That was my first thought too. You go for accuracy and not RT then you benefit from the Accuracy from the weapon but its too much Nodes spend in comparison with RT and does almost the same, since you crit base is 5%. You change to Rapier, the same problem with critical hits. You go dual wield and will have Critical Hit Nodes but then you could invest this points for purly physical nodes and would have the same outcome.
