About scaming (in general) -no names-
" Maybe i don't play much but still over 1500hours just on steam, probably about 2000 total, and yes i did trade for expensive stuff (nothing worth a mirror but hey i imagine no one get's nervous if you're taking you time checking everything while buying a mirror-level item) and no i wasn't successfully scammed once. Maybe someone should make a checklist for trading expensive items? Let me try: - Make sure a 6 link is actually a 6-link, not 4+2 or something - Make sure it's not corrupted if you want it not to be corrupted - Make sure the mods match - Make sure the corruptions/enchants match - Make sure it's actually the item you want - Do this for every item - If selling, make sure those are exalts and not chaos - If asked to confirm again, do all this again with extreme caution Put it an the wall. |

One thing that all these scams have in common is someone being careless.

"If people read what they trade for then there won't be any scammers anymore since it isn't a successful career path. If you sell a 25ex Watcher's Eye for 1ex, at most you'd have scammed yourself. It's not the buyer's fault to buy it for the price you asked for it, dude.
Also, you're responsible for your own actions, trading is no exception. Check. Every. Item. Before you accept. And yes, I've been scammed, lost a couple of ex, but it was entirely my fault. I made assumptions and didn't care to actually check. If you play with fire, sometimes you get burned. That is not to say that I condone scamming, oh hell no. Though the rules are a little murky, just like the definition of a "scam" itself is, I'll keep reporting them in hopes that GGG deals with them accordingly. Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done. Lay your portal gem to rest, don't you die no more. 'Cause it's a bitter sweet symphony this league. Try to make maps meet, you're a slave to the meta, then you leave. Last edited by Xavathos#5130 on Oct 10, 2019, 4:09:50 AM

I'm truly glad that you are not in charge of GGG. Few would play the game in that case, if any at all.

There are simplier solutions other than banning scammers:
- Add some glow/aura on the border of 6-linked items - Add some conditional warnings to the trade window. Like, if any of the items there are corrupted, it should say: "The trade window contains corrupted items". Or: "The trade window contains different types of divination cards". Whatever. This would cut out like 95% of scams, without wasting GGG resources on policing trade and without a risk of innocent people being banned. And not that difficult to implement, i think. Plus we get a cool glowing aura for our 6-linked items. Last edited by LaiTash#6276 on Oct 10, 2019, 4:32:55 AM
