About scaming (in general) -no names-

The responses in this thread are telling what kinda people they are. I have never been scammed in PoE, but I can understand for the people that it does happen to, the experience is disturbing. For some it means what they played for the whole league.

I know it's popular to think you are perfect and can't be fooled, do you really want to play in a game where 99% of people attempt to scam you? Because that's where we will end up if we keep blaming the victims instead of the scammers.

It's not about creating a system to be scam proof, it's about GGG sending a clear and strong signal this kinda behaviour is not tolerated. 99% of scum that does it will stop then. Then we won't have to see a billion scam threads anymore, and people can stop pretending that they are better then others on the interweb.

People can flag you as "scammer" just because you have differing opinions, so such "rating system" or whatever you're proposing here (a bit hard to read what you're saying) would be abused easily.

This is a regular hot topic here and you often see the victims getting the blame because that's the most logical way to put it.
There is no way for anyone other than yourself to move your mouse the way that you don't get scammed.
You can't be protected from yourself so pay attention or suffer the consequences.

It's nowhere near that bad.

GGG shouldn't be babysitting players.
And i'm sure there are people who would gladly set up innocent players and get them banned just for the fun of it.

Don't say something about it if you have no clue how bad it is. If you sell/buy anything high value (So not you) you pretty much run into scammers 9/10 times. This problem is most likely a lot worse in SC aswell, and that is even besides the fact you don't play that much to begin with.

Seriously, step off your own situation for just 1 second and imagine why this is a problem. Even if it's for your own little bubble world.

You are lying when you say its 9/10 times thats not true, does not happen.
And if it does happen that someone tries to scam then it is the person's own responsibility not to fall for it.
Also fully agree with laitash on all 3 of his statements, especially that last one.

scam in POE trade doesn't exist... only careless buyers/sellers.

No, you just can't read. I said high value (As in nothing you own or traded for this league)

This is exactly why people think they can be despicable. The ''It doesn't hurt me so I don't care'' attitude is strong in this one.
I don't really get why this gets that much attention.

Yes, it really hurts if you get scammed. No need to discuss about this. BUT it's not like the scammers can do item swapping or stuff like this, without the other player notices this.
If the person I want to trade with breaks the first trade window and asks for a new trade, this should be a warning sign.

I did sereval multi ex trades this season, but until now I've got no trouble with scamming. The result for this may be that I wasn't trading in very popular stuff like 6L uniques.

Breaking news, a new type of scam has just been discovered.

It's based on a game bug.

If u host a party, and you, the host have perma allo set, and u have full party up, and u are invited by soemone else (lets say for trade) and that person has free for all (probably this) and u are invited back in ur party by anyone, somehow the party allocation remains set and shows in up-right corner as permanent, but its FREE FOR ALL.

OR.

After u trade, if u are invited back in ur party, by one of ur party memebers that has in his settings free for all, u will still be in ur ho, which is perma allo, but now the new member is party leader, and when u enter map, it becomes Free for all - this time i think it shows.

BUT

if u relog, and invite everyone in ur party again, evidently no bug there.

And they use this when hosting party, say PA, and everything that drops is free for all :)))))

Eyes open, after party is full always ask host to relog and reinv all, takes 5 sec to do. Anyone who is fair and actually wants to host what he says in hes message will have nothing agaoinst doing this. i do it all the time, to be sure that if an ex drops for me, i can get it u know ?!...same for everyone else.

I'm sorry, but I don't get where this is a bug. Let's look at the base scenario:
A is in a party with PA. He gets invited to another party for a trade.
Now B (partyhost) changes the allocation from PA to FFA.
A is done and gets reinvited by B.

If A checks now in the hideout, the right upper corner will still show PA, because every allocation change applies AFTER a location change (e.g. HO -> Map).
This is intended behaviour, because it prevents people from flipping the allocation, in case something valuable is dropped or just before killing the boss.
If the party enters a new(!) map now, the current allocation rule for the party (in our case FFA) gets applied for the party.

There is no bug, the system works as intended.

If you're afraid of scams like this, you can easily avoid this problem by checking the party screen after reentering the party. There you can see the Allocation mode set for the party, in stead of the one allready applied to the current area. This is how it worked for years and I'm not aware of any changes to this.

TL;DR: I'm sorry, but this "new type of scam" neighter new nor a bug since the game works as intended. Again you just need to play with open eyes, in stead of switching into brain-afk mode.
