Welcome to the future, my pedigree chums. And now in addition, you can ask yourself a question, why every three months you play the role of beta testers, some of whom additionally pay money for this "privilege". Because I have the impression that the tests are to make the "real" (Chinese) version of PoE work smoothly and pleasantly. Imagine, for example, a situation in which all leagues tested by YOU after three months of testing and patching, are implemented in China, as a “new leagues”. In this way, a real target gets a good quality product, and beta testers pay for being beta testers. Brilliant! Proceed in good work in three months. And don’t forget to… support!

Can this be verified or is this comment total nonsense? But I wouldn't be surprised if it was true. Tencent had a reason to by that much GGG stock to be able to leverage their Chinese version for maximum profits. If the rest of the world plays the next challenge league before China players for debugging purposes then that's extremely sad indeed. But can this be substantiated?

Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.

The perfect solution to fix Trade Chat:

Time is money, and right now GGG makes you pay for trading with a truly horrible amount of frustrating, stuck in traffic, alt tabbing, nit picking time.

They know they need trading but they dislike it so they make you pay for it in frustration and annoyance. Its a FAT: Frustration and Annoyance Tax.

I would pay $60 to have access to an AH.

Time is money, you are paying either way, would you rather pay with time or money. Id rather pay money.

They had leagues on a (mostly) three month cycle well before Tencent got involved. This is just some tinfoil hat stuff right here.

6) Player-binded currency. To prevent bots, all the currency you get before mapping (or certain level, forget the details) is binded to your player.

This seems, not bad? Would it reduce the number of botted orbs coming into the economy?

Probably doesnt make much of a difference, and is more "for show" than anything else.

Bot's will progress through the game faster than the average player since they run 24x7, even if the progress per hour is slow. Leveling is a natural side effect of farming after all.

@Topic

It looks like just about any standard F2P MMO on the market right now, in any region. You gotta remember, PoE is pretty much a needle in a haystack when it comes to monetization.

the china auction house still sucks. you can't specifically search for items, you have to search for an item type then it gives you a list of every listed item. no asking for 20% fire resist or +80 health. GGG made sure even a forced AH in their game makes you work for your gear

The bots already primarily farm in the acts because they're predictable and very low risk, not just in regards to game mechanics and such but also where things like the bot getting stuck are concerned. And places like Aqueducts can be target farmed for easy and efficient profit. Maps...not so much.

Blocking currency trades based on a high level wouldn't really accomplish anything (it's already blocked until a char on the account hits 25 or sth). At most, they might stop target farming Aqueducts and Blood Aqueducts and only target farm Blood. If they had to get to level 60+ first, their Aqueducts efficiency would drop substantially because of the drop penalty.

OMG! Think! Think for a moment. I know, it’s difficult and painful, but try at least. There is no such thing like “free to play”. Only free games you can encounter are some ancient titles, which are really free on steam or GOG. For any other game you must pay in one way or another. So, GGG have to kick out money from you, somehow. If they can’t do it directly, according to “free to play” story, they have to rob you from your time, because they calculated that the amount of time spent in the game is directly proportional to the willingness to pay. In so called “western countries” there are many rich people with a lot of free time. Time is money, but not for them. Therefore they will gladly nolife in PoE and they will gladly pay for “such pleasure”. However, the less money the game makes on various MTX or quality of life improvements, the more time it has to scam players. That’s why many players began to see the game as a second job that actually became.

Now, the most important part. In China people can't spend so much time playing. Therefore, those who cannot pay with the currency of their own life (their time) can buy for real money what others pay with their time. Look, how much discussion there is about AH. Wilson stated his bullocks about “players interaction”, but hey, there is offline AH in China and nothing wrong happened! Game did not die, players enjoying easy trading. Of course only paying players. And so it is with everything. You either pay with your own time or with your own money. And Tencent will care more about the version of the game that brings him more money, the Chinese version.

And here, ladies and gents, we have another topic GGG will never reply to.
Sitting in HO spamming alts for 4 hours straight is peak PoE gameplay. Thanks, Chris.
