CI and stun

Sorry, I had to laugh at that, that's my fave line from this whole thread!

Sounds like an exploitation movie from the 60's.

Or this...

This is a damn fine game in the making (potentially) but there's some SERIOUS issues with players who quite literally will be incredibly rude and obnoxious in their quest to preserve "artificial difficulty" and some sense that this game is "the hardcorest of the hardcore"
Despite knowing full well that they're a niche target audience who whilst important, ultimately would make a game FAIL if they were the sole targets in terms of design direction.

Srsly, After realizing that CI causes me to get stunlocked outside of some insanely niche build with precise gear, I don't want to use it anymore, it's just NOT worth it if it means instant death unless I have 2 specific uniques or so... just... NO...

Bad design element is bad.

/thread
All keystones should drive you into niche builds. That's the whole point of being KEY.
Please pardon my bad english

This is not true.
CI calculates stun, and elemental status ailments, based on the 'actual' life value you would have, ignoring CI's setting it to one. These things never use 1 life in these calculations.

Taking CI does not in any way make you more vulnerable to stuns or elemental status ailments than the same build would be without CI.

How would a CI build be the same build without CI? Everything in a build is based on specific keystones and skills. My point is that in it's current state CI does cause you to be more vulnerable to stuns or elemental status ailments indirectly because CI builds do not stack Life points that do not exist nor should they have to.

and if bad mechanics cause said niche build to blow mightily unless you have VERY specific gear, then it's design aspects are in fact toxic. OP in one regard, UP in another?

Yeah, sounds like it's working just fine...

/sarcasm...

Key should not =/= one exact build

There is room for choice.
I know this is rude, but fuck it. My post here in this thread is specifically designed to troll on pneuma.

Why not add a 50% stun resistance to CI? If not adding stun resistance then make it based of your max ES please.

Really it doesn't matter how much ES you have if you get stun locked because you can't get out of it or do anything to prevent yourself from dying. I can live with the status aliments stuff because there are flask mod to deal with burning, frozen and chilled. Also shock you can try to avoid, and resistances can help decrease the chance for this but there is literally no way to protect yourself from stuns (and eye of chuyala doesn't count here, such an item should not be required for the many builds might want to consider CI).

Stun recovery mods and granite flask of iron skin can help break a stun lock.

That does not work. My post about that is not even that far back. Read before you post or don't post.

I'd like to know if this is the final decision. Guaranteed death is not a trade off and if it's left the way it is, the game is not worth playing.
