Paying for Inventory Stash = P2W
I played almost every game on this sh..hole market and i can say you what you can sell in the c-store without making people whine to much.
There is line with break the game thus give unfair adventage ,with people call pay2win. But many people forget that pay2win adventage is high diffrence in time saved ,free good items (with also clculate to time) ,power that CANT BE GAINED BY OTHER MEANS ,with is the worst one. Additional stash or character tabs dont give you basicaly any advetage ,specialy that you got already 4 stash tabs for free ,where in other games its just 1 or 2! You must be junk collector to whine about that in cash shop. Character tabs with current cap for free are also acceptable. Other acceptable things : - ANY cosmetic stuff that change graphic/animation BUT dont give any bonus stats (ex. no costumes with stats cuz free player cant get them via drop). -EXP/DROP rate enchancers for x perdion of time - many people agree that it isnt problem to give RESONABLE boosts to people that keep the server alive. Note that the increase shouldnt exceed around 50% in both cases ,for POE style game its even easier with the drop rate. Instead of increasing whole drop rate ,you just give like 50% MF as boost with is easly gained by free player. Note that the current exp rate is pretty high ,drop rate can be modifier by in game item. So even 50% boost wont be so big diffrence in gain (similary to league of legends ,everyone is 30lvl in no time so nobody give sh.. if somebody pay to get to the 30lvl sooner). The problem appears when you want to make to big diffrence of around +100% or higher ,then its way to high boost that would be hard to diminish with MF gear or time spent. -Pets that gather loot for you - its not big adventage ,it dont make you drop better items nor change the one picked by it magicaly to better ones. It just save you time runing around mostly with long range class in games. I could give that to people willing to keep the game i play alive. But its immposible to apply due to the current party loot system ,would give to high adventage. -additional spots in other system like more max items registered in auction house ,mail saved in system, bigger friend list cap etc. Those have small impact of gameplay as long as you dont limit free players drasticaly in it ,ofc if systems like those would be ever implemented. Also i rarely pay in games i play ,so i wouldnt write pay2win cash shop to screw myself up. Some people ofc are oversensetive with things other demand power for cash. I am thinking that small boost for paying players isnt bad as long as free player can get what it gives and dont create big gaps between those two societies. |

" you do not need multiple computers I can have my wife's and my account open and running on the same computer with no problem. so one can easily have as many mule accounts as they want. buying stash tabs is in no way a power item, convenience and power are two entirely different things. something that affects gameplay out of town is a power item, a stash tab is 100% irrelivent outside the town. |

" If this bothers you, you should see how Hi-Rez handles Tribes: Ascend. They added the cash shop when the game went from alpha to closed beta and spend months polishing it and letting people purchase real p2w goods (ingame currency for unlocks). In closed beta. Oh, and they released new weapons and cash shop skins two weeks ago, nearly a whole month before the game leaves open beta and goes live. Disgusting. On topic: there will always be someone that is convinced that, and will be a vocal opponent of, convenience items offered in the cash shop are actually pay to win items. This is both right and wrong. It's impossible to please these people. You'll see, someone will come along and complain about the cosmetic items at some point. "This costume is too bright, p2w players have an easier time seeing their character in a melee gangbang, it's unfair!" or "this costume is smaller than this normal drop and doesn't obstruct that player's view as it does mine! It's not fair that he can wear that appearance and retain the stats of the equipment set he's actually wearing!" Last edited by dsfargeg#6586 on Apr 8, 2012, 9:09:27 PM
