We get quite a lot of flat chaos when leveling so we are not that reliant on Bow. But you should still use Sash recipe while leveling to get good phys bow from half-decent base and maybe craft attack speed on top.

Small build update:

11th March 2020
- Updated Crafting section
- Temporarily removed advanced crafting options (Hunter influence on top of required mods mostly)

This is quite big nerf to crafting gear pieces for this build, as now they require influnced bases, so more annoying to craft good gear as starter (and - mana cost body is way less accessible as 6l at least, as now it requires Warlord base, and there are no div cards for that).


Such a bad descision from GGG imo.
They want fossil crafting to be not as exclusive, enabling players to gain mods easier. But then they move the mods to some of the most scarce bases in the entire game. Things will be even more elitis & harder to get now. If you get a warlods influence body armour, what are the chances that it drops with all the desired mdos? You'll 9.99/10 times end up fossil crafting it ANYWAYS,

It should be warlods influence armos + standard fossil crafting.

Tbh I don't think they wanted it to be obtainable "easier" because they're always against people getting good items easily (which I personally dislike, the gap between rich and average players in power is already immense), more like they wanted to "nerf" fossils in the same way they nerfed multicrafting - oh look everyone uses this method? Nerf.

It also means that some of the best attack chests now are even harder to craft because you will need double influence and then rolling acceptable amounts of life on it.
I really liked this guide/build last league, and was planning on having it be my starter/main build for this league. With the fossil crafting changes, is it still viable to start with? How much harder will it be to get into maps without the ability to craft that gear before I can afford the required bases?
I would like to know this aswell.

Yeah it is still viable to start with as Lioneye can still carry you to high yellows/low reds with rest of the core gear (mainly if you get the new 300% poison cluster notable, that should boost clear and most likely also delirium encounters by a lot). And at that point hopefully getting elder bow base would not be that hard (even if it would not be thicket).

Where do you think the best jewel socket is for the new cluster jewels? I imagine it is the projectile nodes w/ the jewel socket. Sacrifice a few life nodes and roll that tasty 300% dmg over time?

Yeah, that is what I would do. Maybe sacrifice Unpredictable Offensive, 3 pointer jewel socket in scion area and maybe some life nodes and just grab cluster jewel near acro

I might have an missunderstanding about the new craft system, but they said all unique mods from fossils had their mod added to another source (crafting bench) so we might have some issues during the early league but we can use darkscorn as an option, but in few weeks we'll be able to get some high dps elder base bow and just add the poison dmg using the crafting bench. at least that what i understood.

I kinda agree with that, almost all my league starters use unique weapons so and when I tried one that use fossil crafting I just start feeling bad to not choose it, its too much easy to make a weapon able to clear all content using the fossil crafting
Honestly, I was more concerned about the -15 mana cost chest, that is now locked behind Elder? influence. Is there another good way to get that mana cost reduction?
