Wierd Latency Issues

over the last 2 weeks I've encountered a problem with my latency.

occasionally (by that i mean 50/50 of the times) whenever i zone into an area ,be that any area town/map/normalzone my latency goes into a frenzy. it varies between 70-2k at a 1-2 sec intervals and even gets stuck completly. i do not get disconnected however. if i wait the game then unstucks and the latency issue resumes.

if i zone out and then in again a few times the latency then sattles to the normal range , which for me is 80-100. which is kind of a problem with 6 portal limit to maps.

i realy dont know what to do. my connection is stable i dont have any problems login in and it never happened before.

and its not like a normal prime hour server overload. it happens at any hour of the day.

tnx in advance to any insight anyone might have on this issue.

the problems still exists. which means its impossible to play and do maps atm.
Anyone might have an idea whether the problem is at my end or not? or maybe a way to check where the problem originates?

Do you know if the latency problem is render related, or ping related?

You can press "F1" to see a few graphs at the top of your screen. Those can help you see your ping time, FPS, etc. The first step is to narrow down what type of "latency" you're talking about.

Once you know what type, then you might be able to get some more direct support. If it is related to your internet connection, you can run an app called WinMTR and in the Host, you put in the server you're connecting to (which can be found in the Client.txt file). Running that can log packet loss at any hop and help you see connection status.

If it is not connection related, you could have other processes on your machine that are eating up resources and causing you to feel latency due to hard disk churn, memory swapping, etc.
It is ping related. wasn't aware latency relates to anything else. but i cant see how it can be my connection as it happens when I switch areas and not all the time. like a mentioned before, if i zone in and out of an area the problem fixes itself for a time.or at least until i switch area again.i do not have any problem login in , my connection is stable .i tried switching from the EU servers to the Americas but the problem still persists.
well I ran the program and this is what I got

would love if someone can translate this.
and this is from when I exited the city and went to City of Sarn zone where the latency was stable and killed some mobs

the first number after the hostname is the loss % which means you're losing a lot of packets, or they aren't properly responding to pings.

In the case of the 100% loss, I'm going to assume they just don't respond to pings... but the other ones with 98% and such... that isn't good. That means you get replies from them, but not all the time.. which usually correlates with packet loss.

Have you tried using the VPN setup like mentioned in one of the sticky threads on this forum? I would try running under the VPN and use the WinMTR with that and see what is going on.

But in my opinion, your latency issues definitely look like something to do with your connection and not their server (notice how their server only has 1 on the %loss column)
I don't know. something doesn't make any sense. in the first post , I took the reading in town when I had the latency issues. if you look at the first and last line of the chart, which are my end and the servers end the number of packets is not even close to equal, which I guess means there was some serious packet loss.

what happens in between with the average or 98% packet loss I have no way to explain and most likely doesn't have any connection to my isp which is responsible maybe to the next 4 lines of the char only. the other lines are routers outside of my country.

in the second post. I zoned out into a random area and as you can see the number of packets at the first and last lines is more or less equal. which as I understand means there was minimal packet loss.

the fact that the only thing I did was switch zones ingame to cause/fix the issue pretty much means the problem is not at my end.

the middle lines of the chart.... idk maybe somehow the incapsulation of the packets is somehow wrong... but again that cant be a problem at my end , that's not something a user has to worry about.

anyone from GGG can maybe comment here. with the info I gathered. maybe shed some light.
tnx again and have a nice weekend.
Bump. would realy like to be able to play again.
