Gear progression in PoE is like D3 with AH

[Removed by Support]

How you dare proposing an AH that allows you to sell items while running lab or killing a boss with multiple sequences?? An AH to kill all the price fixers and afkers? A time saving system with no lowballs haggling for your good stuff?

Ok being serious now, i bought most of my gear too, including gems with quality to level. If looting, stashing, iding stuff and inventory space were improved then the current system would be justified. Right now none of these are good and trade system is not justified.

currently the PoE trade system is soooooo bad, it's beyond repair. Yet I noticed from my own experiance that gearing progression looks more or less the same for many:

You start with a sitty base gear, get some rares and some currency.
You use that currency to get some good leveling items.
Once leveled up, you gather more currency, and you go for shopping again, buying entry level gear for mapping.
Once you gather more currency you go shopping again and buy better gear for harder content.

Oddly this is exactly what gearing in D3 was prior to removal of AH. The "dreaded" system many people here scream to not implement, yet poe.trade is just like AH just with a down syndrome.

I really hope tencent will finally agree that AH is needed, and give an executive order for it to be implemented.

Who the hell buys leveling gear?
Also poe trade is nothing like AH.
We dont need ah. Only you whiny noobs do.
Please come closer so i can taste your salty tears.

In HC a good number of people buy lvling gear
I dont see any any key!
Are you not remembering the summer of 2012 and the D3 forum "flame wars". Oh man was it bad! Why do you think "the other Wilson" got so fed up with complaints that he finally went on a tirade and eventually got canned for swearing at a flamer in their forums.

D3 AH is the culmination of how not to do arpg trading. Of course original D3 had a boatload of playing problems too of which the classes being way out of balance with each other such that only a few builds would work well and the rest ended up hitting the proverbial brick wall and couldn't advance past it without significantly better dps gear. Those that had the fortune of a great build could garner much wealth knowing the majority of players were hitting the wall and thus the AH prices skyrocketed as supply/demand was way out of balance (no fun in playing D3 at all). The RMAH just exasperated the problem.

Fortunately we have no worries of an AH disaster here as we know that GGG will not add an AH and I think/hope that Tencent will never force them at financial gunpoint to do it. Having said that then all should stop forcing the "PoE needs an AH" discussion and move on to what GGG can/should be doing to improve the current trade system such as an in-game item search function coupled with a smart phone and Windows app that sellers can run 24/7 (similar to texting) to be alerted to a WTB whisper anytime (it should log the WTB just like a regular phone call) and be able to invite the buyer and make the sale from the app. That is not going to break the system as the buyer still must be playing PoE to whisper the WTB and the seller still has to reply (no automatic selling like an AH has). This would/should virtually eliminate the silent treatment for the tons of WTBs that go unanswered.

Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.

the problem was the RMAM

HC was great due to its natural item sink and no real money

Also fuck AH.

No, fuck needing to have ungodly levels of IQ and IR on top of running in a party in order to have a somewhat visible increase in better item drops...

So sick of the Real$AH conflated to "Auction Houses are bad durrrr *drool*" from the suckups around here.
Yes op. Drops/gearing was similar to D3 pre RoS. But D3 is a pile of garbage. That is the key difference.

Poe.trade is exactly an AH. Just slow, have no good interface and not integrated in game dirrectly that allow people to pricefixing and some sort of scams.

You already use AH. Think about it. Face it.

Also all 'player interactions' while trading is:
1. copy message from poe.trade
2. paste message in game chat
3. wait an answer or invitation (if no answer or invitation - go to 1 and repeat)
4. go to trader hideout
5. make trade by hower cursor throught items in trade window and smash 'accept' button
6. (optional) say 'ty' at the end.

A lot of people, I guess you dont play much that you dont see all thoese players running in tabula rasa, using wonderlust boots, goldrim hat, Lochtonial Caress gloves and either Lifesprig, quill rain or redbeak/last resort.

Most of that did not drop for them but have been aquired really quickly for 1 alch from our lovely AH with down syndrome (I mean no offense to people touch with this genetic disorder).
Maybe you dont need AH, go and play SSF if you wish, but as this is a game center around trading a well balance automated, or semi-automated trading system would make more good than bad.

I personally prefer to play than to alt-tab, copy-past whispers for 20+ minutes trying to buy some items
YES I support the game, NO I don't agree with many GGG decisions

Lab still sucks balls.

I miss Zana already.
