Looking for opinions on a high end standard purchase!

its difficult to get a mirrored item. mostly because of mirror fees, which usually range in the hundreds of exalts themselves, on top of needing a mirror.
so to get a mirror item you'd have to buy an already mirrored item that somebody doesn't want.

800+phydps 2h sword is like 300 ex fee+ mirror.

Best in my opinion is to go for leg kaom because mirrored weapons got nerfed plenty in past by GGG (change of base weapon damage/attack speed/crit)

BTW in standard for those who have no idea, a leg kaom is about 400 ex minimum.

i would also go for a mirror to put it in the stash and enjoy looking at it.

reasons: long term value. the poe community got so risk averse and shitstorm every little nerf that keeping the game interesting is only possible by massive power creep, means the items you get now are likely worthless tomorrow.

as a alternative: legacy kaom's heart. 1k life are unmatched and will be for a long time and it just seemed like ggg recently wanted to nerf their value with acnient reliquary keys but the drop rate was abysmal.

You used the word "notable" in your initial post, this tells me you don't want some random copy of a GG item, if anything you want the original.....

Better yet, maybe even a GG item with a sick corruption roll (1/1)

If i could buy only 1 item and i had nearly all the currency needed to do so..... i would buy a legacy kaoms with +1 all res corruption or maybe one of those two fishing rings in existence....

Oddly enough, the best thing to "invest" is actually eternals as there is no more supply. Although investing in currency seems a tad weird to me.

To the OP - personally I would invest in weapons rather than armour / jewelry. Reason being that we do not know whether or not life / ES would be meta. Weapons are pretty universal in my view. In my view, a good dagger, sword, wand or bow is safe. Generally physical weapons with merciless / dictator / flaring prefixes would be the most desired. Not many weapons fall into this category though, AFAIK there is only 1 bow and 1 wand that has all 3 T1 prefixes. These weapons would however cost about 300ex.

I'd look at handy and not so overly expensive legacies: RoTC, LC, BoR, Shavs

I remember mirror gear quite well before I gave most of my shit away in terms of standard I do have a few of them left actually still rotting forever.

Mirror fee's are a pain in the fucking ass ranging from 100-200 ex.

imo it's not worth the hassle personally.
