Looking for opinions on a high end standard purchase!

Greetings,

Im a casual player that has been around for a while. I almost always start and play leagues but I mostly end up at standard because I really enjoy the collecting aspect of the game as well.

I recently decided to sell most of my worthy items to purchase a notable item, I really want an item I can be proud of after lots of hours of effort. However Im not very familiar with super high end items.

I have been checking poe.trade for a while, but Im not sure about what choices I have. The only super high end item I know of are the Bows and the Loath Bane dagger. So Im pretty weak in terms of wisdom.

What would you guys suggest me to look at? After selling most of my stashes, I think I ended up at a solid 150-160ex budget. Im waiting for you guys' recommendations. This will be my biggest poe moment ever,

Thanks in advance,
Mandy.

If I were in your shoes, given what you said (i.e. you dont have a specific item in mind), I would go for a mirror.
It will convert your forum titles into decorative square badges that use the space next to your forum posts more economically so that you can show off an unlimited number of them at any one time. - GGG, 2018 (https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3573673)

a mirrored weapon would be the most impactful thing you could get for your budget. Theres some options, dagger and bow being the main ones, you could get a phys wand, I got one recently but then I already have a bow, dagger, sword, claw blah blah. I wanted a phys wand just to have one but you can match a mirrored phys wand with just an elemental imbued wand u could get for 1/10 of the price.

Claws, swords, axes, theyre more expensive, I dont think ur gonna get a top class one for 150ex. Youre looking more in the 200-250 range I would think, theres a lot less out there than daggers and bows.

The question is what sort of builds u like playing? You like crit 1h melee or bows more?
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

Hello! I guess you are someone that can give good suggestions since you have been there :) I had to sell my legacy reach to get this much, so Id say I have had enough of Bow builds.

On the other hand I really dont want the item to become worthless in couple patches.

That's pretty tricky because you never know what GGG is going to nerf. For instance, I finally invested in a GG ES chest about a month before they announced the ES nerf :/

I'd think a good dagger would be really solid. Or you could spring for something a little more iconic like a legacy chest piece. I'm embarassed to tell you how much currency I spent chasing a legacy Shav's during the last league... Damn RNG!

All that being said, with 150-200EX, I'd still rather have an awesome build than a single item. But that's just me.

Truthfully, if I were you, I'd invest that EX and use it to make 2-300 more. Then I'd consider buying something GG. No reason to go broke on one item when you can easily use that currency to make more currency. Shouldn't take very long.

Thank you very much for the lovely response! But believe me Im so bad with currency. If I dont buy something, I will begin fiddling with my characters, waste it on chroms, alts and try to do weird stuff :)
What about something like a +1 gems legacy 6L Shav's? Doesn't get any more iconic than that. Although I'm not sure it's in your price range.
Dont buy a mirror, mirrored gear sucks balls. GGG nerfs far to often and far to hard i have so many stash tabs of mirrored shit that has either become mediocre or downright non-functional because of this games constant flip flopping. Instead just buy something like a Legacy Kaom.

Well, I would decide what I wanted to use this item for, before I went ahead and bought it. What build do you want to play? What class? Make your decisions - and THEN search for an item.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
a legacy koams heart maybe? Or I'd get a starforge, atziris acuity gloves, and all of the op uniques atm so you can mess with a bunch of builds.
