thing is though a weapon is always a weapon. Every since they introduced melee splash in open beta 4 years ago a physical crit dagger had always been insane. Its gone from CI crit dagger, nerfs and buffs, to life crit dagger, more nerfs and buffs, back to CI crit dagger, and then more nerfs to life crit dagger, the meta has shifted around a lot and if you had life gear you got fucked and then back in business and then fucked and then you sold it and got ci gear and then you got fucked again and no one wants ur ci gear but u need life stuff again....

but the actual dagger itself has always been a gg thing. It was flicker and double strike, then reave, now its frostblades, wildstrike, bladeflurry, u can do cyclone with a trickster to some extent, skills come and go, defenses come and go, but a physical dagger has always been a universal thing.


Legacy kaoms is like 500 exalts last time I checked, thats more than 3x his budget sadly. I had a feeling ci was getting nerfed and legacy league would not produce a mountain of legacy kaoms the way ppl presumed it would, so I grabbed one in the slight price dip just before legacy league and it cost me 230ex, now its over 500. Thing is if the ci/life thing switches again it might lose that value, same with legacy shavs, all these uniques are tied to the meta, esp a shavs, low life is pretty poor now days and for all we know it might get even worse. I cant picture a time when there are no 1h melee skills that can use a dagger that work. Right now you still got flicker, spectral throw, flurry, frostblades, wildstrike works, reave is hurt but it works if you got the gg damage a mirrored dagger brings, same with lightning strike.

you can get a first gen victory slicer/honour etcher/loath bane for about 155-160 exalts, they cost less than a mirror. Kaoms is 500ex, +1 leg shavs is 999ex.

You and I seem to have similar goals in this game; though lately I have drifted more toward challenge temp league orientation but I LOVE the collecting aspect of this game too. I would be sick of it by now without that.

Yeah, legacy gear or race rewards. Race rewards will hold value for sure.

First off, if you mirror a boot/glove/helm/chest/belt then you are basically burning money. There is absolutely no reason to ever mirror one of these and people who do are either too rich or too stupid to cre.

Second, the only items actually worth mirroring are:
a high pds bow
a high pds wand
a mirrored amulet with crit multi

The issue is that the first two will likely get shat on in 1 month making your investment turn to ash.
Look at the thousands of exalts wasted on mirrored gear in the past that have been made obsolete.
As for melee mirrored weapons, just utter trash, you can 3 shot shaper with a heavystrike zerker and you won't need to blow 160 exalts for a dagger to do it.

GGG nerfs way too often for a mirror investment to be worthwhile.

I could play 10 different melee builds all the way to 100 without ever using heavystrike or even fighting shaper at all, and have a lot of fun doing it, more fun than I would have playing heavystrike or farming shaper.

I always had my eye on a Brood Twine mirrored bow.

Someone people play for optimization some play for shits and giggles, the latter tends to not have the money for a mirrored melee weapon anyways. With iaoe in it's current state, it's hard to justify a mirrored melee weapon.

well its not optimization vs shits and giggles, I dont think just farming shaper is immediately what you do when ur into optimization and have money. Hes talking about standard league, whats the point in farming shaper on standard? If you enjoy it then sure, I think more people enjoy mapping with a range of builds and a range of skills, it doesnt follow they dont optimize those builds and spend a lot of currency on them.

100-200 ex fee's are fucking stupid I just wanna let you know that again.
