How about a paid account instead of free?
Hi guys,
I've been thinking about this little idea for a while now, wanted to hear other people's opinions on it. The goal is to solve some trolls, alt account spamming and scamming on poe.trade issues. What do you guys think if you'd have to buy an account instead of getting it free, but you'd get like a currency tab for it or something like that? To trade on poe.trade you'd need a fully purchased account, or to post on forums, or trade in-game. The first two weeks could be free for any account - a trial period - but after that you'd have to pay some $10 to continue playing, and you'd get a currency tab (that's just personal for me, I feel like it's the only tab that's mandatory for me). Possibly you could choose your starting reward for the 10 dollars, a few premium stash tabs or map tab, a currency tab or some other MTX. What do you guys think? EDIT: Sorry, my wording was bad. What I meant was a one-off payment to buy the account, not continuous pay-every-month. Reality is an illusion, Exile. kinda retarded idea..

The ONLY thing that would make me actually pay a sub for this game, since I already drop quite a bit of money on it anyway, would be if it gave you an EXP boost as well as a boost to currency drops. Other than that, nothing in this game is worth paying a sub fee for.

If I want to spend 120$ a year to get nothing but reduced spam and a free tab it's not a good deal for me, the player. You already get so little for your money in this game as it is, compared to say...Warframe, where for $18 I got three gorgeous, player imagined and dev designed back attachments that even give part of the profit to the player who imagined it originally. And those things are considered expensive by the players of that game! Subscription based games have to start out that way...you never see a game free and move to that, only the other way around.
There's also the fact it would literally kill the game. As soon as you throttle the playerbase, you also throttle the entire economy of the game because now all those free players who helped make the market live are gone. I think this game's F2P model is good enough as is. I've already spent as much on this game as I would normally pay for an AAA single-player title in my part of the world, and although this may come as a surprise to some, the fact that the features I purchased were completely optional actually contributed to my decision to support the game :)
P.S. And never, ever even think about charging money for stuff that affects game balance (such as XP gain/currency drop rates etc.). It's cancer, it's gonna ruin the game. Fuck master rotas. Fuck any kind of rotas, for that matter. Last edited by DGTLDaemon#6150 on Sep 9, 2017, 5:29:15 AM

Sorry guys, what I meant was a one-off purchase, not a monthly subscription.
The reason being as most of you said you've already spent a fortune on this game anyway, but the inability to create infinite accounts for free would perhaps reduce the spam as well as providing a somewhat of a solution to bots. Reality is an illusion, Exile.

Monthly subs = NO... One time payment = acceptable. Why not make it 1 time payment equivalent to 1 supporter pack ($60), in par with the price of other games. With that payment the player will also receive the current supporter pack items & mtx points. It's like you have to buy a supporter pack to play the game & then they can just limit the F2P up to Act 4 as a demo/trial, if they want to continue, they have to buy a support pack. With this, it will not impact players who already bought support pack previously.
But if GGG do that, they must guarantee to the players that thay will be more attentive to the demands & complains of the players, because the players were already paying for the game.
