sorry to say so but: harbingers still suck
" See this guy hes one of the issues with the community. People like him. They accept everything regardless of how shit something is. Like GGG could paint his shirt with dog shit right and be like yep this is totally fine. Listen if there's a multitude of complaints and even a large dose of upvotes on even reddit that this league / patch is still shit that's an issue but you don't see that do you? You go oh but reddit is the minority and act like 99% of the people are liking this. Please dude get real this league is shit and everything regardless of outcome whatever GGG says you will accept what does that make you hm? I for one would welcome a currency magnet. or even better, a loot window like in entropia universe. you just get to see what you found and it is transported to your stash right away. having to carry CURRENCY around in your inventory unheard of in almost all rpgs even since the advent of the personal computer!!!
yes, I would pay for that. or even a pet that just picks up fucking scrolls! I would pay even for only that since I have no hope for significant game design improvements in this game I am officially done with Path of Exile. done for good Last edited by LMTR14#6725 on Aug 18, 2017, 8:11:37 AM

" glad to see somebody with your supporter pack count realises that too now ;-) since I have no hope for significant game design improvements in this game I am officially done with Path of Exile. done for good

I have 9 supporter packs actually and the baseline combat of the GGG fanatic is that why don't you quit. That isn't the point you don't fucking ask someone to GO AWAY you want people to play that's the entire point.
Especially if I'm fucking paying the company out of my free will because I'm faithful that they will do better? Are they doing better? No of course not in my eyes anyway they're doing fucking terrible but in your eyes regardless of outcome in terms the GGG fanatics everything that they do is like fucking flowers and blossoms A-OKAY to them. " You are the other extreme, you (and others) complain about everything. GGG buffed the league and none of the all-day-long-whiners even slightly acknowledged this. And as soon as someone says something positive, it is either ignored or the person is called a white knight or something similar. Thats the same behaviour as in global 1. It is full of racism, sexism, antisemitism and as soon as someone says something against this, he is a "cuck" or a "libtard". Criticism is fine and its really needed as the Harbinger league is one of the weaker leagues. But totally ignoring any progress they make and ignoring the fact that they - simultaneously relased the biggest expansion ever - will release a whole new game client for another systeme in less than a week - created a whole new league - created 8 different supporter packs with 6 new armor sets alone - reworked many mechanics - ... is just plain stupid. Toxic behaviour doesn´t help anyone. And don´t be fooled by thinking that the loudest users are always speaking for the majority. |

Harbinger spawn rate and loot quantity has to be turned up, if it was 5 times higher than current it would be approximately as economically impactful as breach or legacy. We're just playing fresh economy standard right now. Please stop being so conservative, knob is at a 2 when there's no reason for it not to be at 11.

" It wasn't great before, but now its definitely worse. The worst so far after the patch was having a Harbinger encounter a single transmute shard. Piety's story http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2081910

3.0 as an expansion/content update is great. I'm not bothered by the rebalancing - that's something I've come to expect with every patch.
Harbinger League however, is very underwhelming and unsatisfying. From an interaction point of view, it's bland and boring. Let's look at everything that made Breach league awesome: -Breaches have a random lord's theme. When you see a breach, you don't know which it will be until you've activated it. -Breaches expand outward, grow larger and out of control. -Pack sizes in breaches can get really dense. -Breach mobs drop loot when you kill them -Random breach chests, some of which can be large. -The random chance of a breach lord showing up. -Clearing breaches rewards you with shards that will 100% result in a key. -Opening a portal to a Lord's realm is a similar but different encounter than a normal breach - you're on a timer to race to the door or lose your chance to fight the lord. -The Lord fight is a cranked up brawl where the player has to juke heavy attacks and spawns -The lord drops a complete item with the chance of a blessing which can upgrade those breach-specific items. Whether you find an item, or a blessing or both; you feel like you've gotten something unique to the encounter that you can use or sell. Harbingers have NONE of that. You encounter them on a map and you just senselessly kill packs of mobs knowing that there's just more packs after those and none of them are going to drop anything. The end is just a dump of currency scraps that don't feel rewarding or significant at all. I did my first Harbinger map last night after the patch. In total, I've used about 15 Harbinger orbs and have gotten 1 beachhead map (T15). This was the ultimate exercise in boredom. More of the same senseless slaughter of hundreds of mobs that spawn and die, spawn and die, spawn and die. The final room: more of the same for 5 soul-cleaving minutes as I struggled desperately to stay awake. Ultimately, I walked away with 1/4 of an item. Considering how long it took to run this encounter once, I don't have any expectations that one day I'll actually have a completed Harbinger item. This league could not have been more poorly designed. I don't want the game to always be bigger and better than Breach league, but I think the elements that made breach league great should have some sort of attendance in future leagues. Instead we're playing this league to the tone of a Ben Stein roll call; Bueller? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller? |

Breach league and Perandus before that made people too complacent. Make your fast clear build, become fat and rich by the second week. In other words - welcome to Diablo 3.
This is a dangerous road we are walking down here. More of this easy to swipe for great loot areas and there wont be any point for a league to be 3 months long. More like 3 weeks because you'll be max geared in the second one anyway. |

The orbs themself are also a part of the league and they are great. They add a lot of gambling to the game (I once bought a 30c weapon just to try to get rid of a 1-3 flat phys roll with Annulment Orb, damn that pressure).
The map-related orbs are also cool since they help to clear the atlas while still having a small chance for a nice unique map. The Harbinger fights are a little to slow and to easy. Even on high tier maps I just click EQ once slightly before they appear and they die before they even blink. |
