[3.8] LiftingNerdBro's Uber Lab Warchief Totem Champion - Great League Starter!

ahhh thanks a lot, i didnt read that ;-)
How does this build fare depth wise in mines? I just started delving after doing maps and i freaking love it :) But only at depth 75. So far it is really easy, but ofc i know the difficulty will spike the deeper you go.
Just wondering if he is viable to go to 1000+?
Hi, loving the build. Been playing it on SSF HC.

My take on this build is to not use Multiple totems in your main link, for a few good reasons.
Firstly it will force you to use both Vaal Ancestral Warchief at the same time, and they will deal less damage instead of more damage (They are still limted too 2 totems). Having the option to only pop out 1 increases your clearspeed.
Secondly it opens up for Ancestral Protector with multiple totems, which will double your single target DPS in a 6link.

Math:

Lifting's recommended gems for bosses:
Vaal Ancestral Warchief, Multiple Totems, Brutality, Melee Physical Damage, Concentrated Effect & Ruthless.
This gives me with a 6link Kondo's Pride 62k DPS for each totem, 4x 62k = 248k DPS total.

The setup i'm running:
Vaal Ancestral Warchief, Maim, Brutality, Melee Physical Damage, Concentrated Effect & Ruthless.
This gives me with a 6link Kondo's Pride 139k DPS for each totem, 2x 139k = 278k.

Ancestral Protector, Multiple Totems, Melee Physical Damage, Ruthless, Brutality, Bloodlust.
This gives me in a 6link Armour 116k DPS for each totem, 2x 116k = 232k.

510k DPS total, in 2x 6links.

If you wonder why my Ancestral Warchief setup alone is doing more DPS then Lifting's setup, it's because you gain maim and the more attack speed from Ancestral Protector.

These are my actual numbers with onslaught, except i don't have 6link for my Ancestral protector yet. I also have 8k life.

If you want to try this, i recommend using the new attack totem skin on Ancestral Warchief so you can easily tell which ones you have active, since you can have 4x Ancestral Protector active.

How is this compared to waggle's ancestral warchief totem?

Waggle's build makes deleting bosses look so fast with brutus.

Waggle's build is a lot more expensive though, and we dont know if +1 totems on shields will stick around for next season either.

But yeah, Waggle has almost 10k life with Loreweave.. And at least 3 times more boss dps. At least double life recovery and can do a 30 second fortify with 1 hit..

I have never played a warchief totem so I dont understand the mechanics..

The way i see it, chieftain looks more promising with totem leech, fire pen and totem taunt.

While champion has.... Taunt and auto hit?

What about the budget version, between this build and chieftain with 6L loreweave (around 4ex), and basic gear (no exp stuff like might of the meek and unnatural instinct).

Kinda wanted to try waggles version but lots of people went this route instead.

I think it comes down to this being more viable as a league starter. Waggle's build requires a lot more specific items for it to scale well, even self crafted ones.
This build is just a lot more simple to get started.

But if you want to invest your time and currency into a warchief totem character, i think Waggle Chieftain is the way to go.

If you want to throw something together to test the playstyle, Lifting's Champion is very decent and can do most content. I've even done Atziri, Pale Court, Elder and Mastermind in SSF HC with it. Although you should consider my route for more damage. Explained in a post further up.

Thank you, that sums up very good points from someone who has played this build consistently.

I have enough currency to play around and wanted to make a boss killer to farm uber elder and came across waggle's video. Also remembered this build has been going around for the longest time and wondered how these 2 builds stack with each other.

Thanks again

With my semi decent gear and a bit overleveled, I was able to take down The Shaper for my first time ever today with this build. I had one death, which was due to getting vortex trapped and beamed. Other than that the fight went well, build help up well. Did it on a four link starforge and some dinky 6L armor. Character is in my profile if interested.
