Mathil's death in the Lab

No, it's not that you "not going to waste time on me" - you just have nothing to say. So better throw a youtube video and expect of it to do the work.
Not that it can - in this video it's easy to find out he truly got no secondary defenses. The funniest part is his understanding of "really defensive build" as he called it - no flat life on gear and not a single reliable form of additional defense, besides the "high" HP pool... according to him. To add insult to the injury, he had his resistances uncapped, playing with high elemental damage + prone to overlap skill. BTW he didn't even press his bismuth flask, but it's unrelated to his build - mostly to the player skills, proper gear, underestimation and lack of research of the certain encounter he was facing. Now I'm fairly sure - you're the one full of shit, along with your idol. And it's actually you wasting my time, forcing me to watch a video full of excuses but nothing else. Mathil just got to play on SC where he shines and belongs to, and never move out of there. This is a buff © 2016 The Experts ™ 2017 Last edited by torturo#7228 on Jul 1, 2017, 10:35:54 AM

" no, all of these people trying to say what happened over Mathil explaining it, is full of shit. its Mathil's character. he knows exactly how he built it etc and he explains it in the video. his hp isn't low. its potentially as high as it can be (gathered up all the hp nodes), barring the best and luckiest flat hp rolls on all pieces of gear. he doesn't lack any second form of defense. he has acrobatics and evasion and flasks. he isn't full on damage. he just isn't. watch the fucking video buddy. didn't pay attention to encounter??? again he says the only way he could have known that there were TWO of those reflect invasion bosses was to walk in - which is the wrong move. if he walked in and instantly died everybody would be saying "oh what a noob you can't just walk into a room like that blah blah". guys are legit hypocrite keyboard warrior fkin hipster elitist dinks. i'll take mathil's word over all ya'lls any day of the damn week, especially when people act like this and about HIS OWN FUCKIN CHARACTER. "ohhh i know better because im the best ever. i don't care if it was his character and he played it and knows the feel of it and all the ins and outs and details of that character, I KNOW BETTER AND I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT HE DID WRONG WHICH WAS THIS THIS AND THIS" give up Last edited by xMustard#3403 on Jul 1, 2017, 12:56:05 PM

While I'm not sure who's right here saying "mathil knows better because it is his char" is like saying that any build of any player is the best build ever, and you can't criticize it (sole reason for that being that build was made by that player).
And worst change is putting almost all bosses in new version of maps into fucking small areas, where you can't kite well or dodge stuff. What a terrible idiot invented that I want say to him: dude flick you, seriously flick you very much.

" Honestly, I'm not elitist bashing on anyone, and never was. I hate this mentality and usually react as well. I also don't fuel HC vs SC wars, as no matter I play strictly HC, my highest lvl char is actually on standard. It's strictly about Mathil's death, and the reasons. I consider his build a SC one - conceptually inappropriate for HC, inappropriately geared, poorly balanced, badly protected. AND, in addition, he misplayed. He misplayed so bad that I loled, no matter I have experienced a shitload of idiotic deaths. What still keeps this topic alive is some butthurt fanboys, who desperately tried to argue. It's not about you, don't bite. " Now take a look and tell me where his defenses come from: ![]() * tabula - no flat HP roll, no secondary defenses * asenath's - super low flat roll, no secondary defenses * fairgraves' - no flat roll, no secondary defenses * dusktoe - super low flat roll, no secondary defenses His jewels and belt inevitably got low flat rolls as well, related to their low lvl. * uncapped resistances * no flask used (as a pathfinder, in addition he said he saw the invader in advance) * no shield Now tell me - where do his defenses come from? The low or completely lacking HP rolls? The uncapped resistances? You said evasion, where is it? He got no even grace, what evasion? A single point in acro? Is that his defenses? Do you realize that he could have skipped acro and just played with a shield, and it wouldn't make any difference? Is that reliable defenses ??? Oh, he had HP. So cute. He has high HP only according to him. Because he's a SC player and his perception is twisted. My previous char was a 2H build which around his level had 2.2K HP, +1K AR, permanent fortify, 5 endu charges. My current char at his level was 1.7K HP, 5-600 AR, 51% block, AA, 3 endu charges. In both cases resistances overcapped. Do you find any difference? Look, Mathil is SC player, known with ridiculously high damage builds and creative setups. But this guy is just bad on HC. He's strictly a SC player with all the consequences when playing with one life. That's all. Actually his death was mostly to his resistances undercapped. But his build wasn't a HC one, especially one designed to fight invasion bosses most of the time. He tried to cheese and got fucked all over. " Yup. I've had plenty of experience with PoE by now to know what is and isn't good for gameplay enjoyment. Barring the 1%'s opinions, reflect is a killjoy. I think it's an amateurish mechanic by the devs (or may be just by Chris) that continues to make certain build strategies less unique. After all, the bulk of builds that are successful at end game typically takes a TON of Life or ES nodes, even more so after the changes in the past year or two to make end-game mob damage even more brutal. It kills build diversity at end-game, because if you want to account for it, your options instantly dwindle your build and gear diversity. Just about any build, even the unpopular ones, can do 99% of the content, but that last 1% takes a narrow sliver of build options to achieve without perfect gameplay, especially if you treat content as if it's in a hardcore league. But the elitist mentality will just scoff at that to satisfy their own pride. ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

" Trying to kill things offscreen is a lazy tactic to artificially lower difficulty. | |
Mayhem isn't a balanced game mode. There's nothing to debate here.
It's like if I was in a shaped strand where an invasion boss and a ghost spawned in the boss room; the map isn't balanced anymore. No matter how I build, depending on which additions the game chooses I might have to logout or I'll die. Perfect play, I die or log out if the game picks a bad combo. Mayhem is this effect times twenty. Twenty invasion bosses in izaro's treasure room. Like how can you blame any single monster affix for the outcome. Best players are going to die with absolutely no hope. This is not lack of skill or even imbalance. It's a tiny bit of stubbornness in thinking you can handle that room. Nobody wants to abandon a completed lab, and I have no doubt most people in this thread would make the same choice. When he dies, you can see the sinking expression in his face -- "What was I thinking, I should have logged out" -- I don't have alpha access, that was a LONG time ago.
