Mathil's death in the Lab

I think this video was very indicative of "difficulty" in this game - faceroll everything, then instagib to some random bullshit which in 90% you had no chance of avoiding (unless you play in full paranoid mode 24/7) so the game could pretend to be challenging.

This guy gets it. There is no middle ground. It is faceroll or one shot deaths. There has to be a better way. GGG have some of the best talent around. Properly motivated, I am sure they could come up with something. They just have to want to.

You can either have enough damage to faceroll, but reflect will be scary. Or you can not faceroll. Faceroll+no risk=dead game.

This death was definitely on Mathil's side doing things badly. If you choose to use 6L on normal difficulty for high dmg, you should be already ok with this to happen or play a build that doesn't shoot out of screen / don't attack them out of screen.

If he was on 3L/4L not pimping up his dmg to sky high then he would survive.

He used KB which was on a 4L and not on a 6L...
No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!
If you don't like reflect play a Chaos Over Time build?

he explains everything here.

Just watched it. He doesnt seem to understand his mistake. Making a (self attack) KB wander without (almost) reflect immunity is questionable even without that invasion boss. With it its suicidal. You would have to be insanely careful to not make rip-or-not an RNG gamble.
Its not about playing skill. The game is constructed in such a whacky manner that some builds simply dont work properly for this setting in HC. KB is "notorious" for the "random" number of hits you can get vs a mob. So yes you can be ok 100 times and then RIP to that boss. Or a twinned/tailed rare reflect in a corner.

Edit: typo

I am sorry are you just in denial here? HE MENTIONED THAT HE ENCOUNTERED THIS SAME INVASION BOSS AND IT WAS NOT A PROBLEM. He also said that reflect in general was not a problem.

But you know what was? TWO invasion bosses that trigger 100% phys and elemental reflect. I am also amazed at people who say "well he had tabula" or "it was a 6l". Yeah, because a different low level chest on NORMAL would save him from double super reflect invasion boss? RIGHT?

Also, his KB was on 4l, but even if he reduced his damage, he would still die to double reflect invasion boss. So much denial.

His only mistake was playing HC super invasion league in the first place. It's like signing up for extra bullsh8t.

I think this is a problem because the game overall design HEAVILY favours DPS and Speed, with rare BS mechanics that can ocassionaly shoot you down. If the game had way more mechanics like reflect (not saying it should) that would heavily punish having high damage, then the overall flow of the game would be different.

Did you even read what I wrote? His mistake (if he wants his survival to be based on playing skills) was playing a build which is particularly vulnerable to that kind of thing.

To be clear: I am not defending game mechanics here.

Also: You mentioned "denial" several times: "denial" of what?

Not going to argue with butthurt SC players. Being a SC player myself a times. I'm also sorry putting words at their lord and savior, the ultimate scrublord Mathil. Excuse me.

Just raw facts:

* he has low HP
* he lacks any form of secondary defense, but relies on offscreening mobs
* he's full in on damage - it's inappropriately high
* his build is a SC build - favors offense over defense
* didn't pay any attention to the certain encounter

At the end he dies and makes a video of what an unlucky incident it was. Stars aligned and all. Maybe pointed a finger at reflect and how unfair and bad this mechanic is.
But what's more important, did he mention any of the points above as the reason for his death?

Literally all your "raw facts" are false. People in this thread are so full of shit lol

Nah. It's just you full of shit, unless you point out what's false.

A single line of pointless text won't cut it.
