Lag spikes most of the day (Australia)

Hey guys, getting lag spikes all day. Asked a few other friends on Discord that play on the Australia realm too and they're also getting it. Ran the WinMTR and this is what I got:

http://pastebin.com/d4RQcYzL

Anyone know if that IP dropping all the frames is on GGG's end or is it a routing issue I need to contact my ISP about?
For more detailed information, I do beta testing for $75 an hour.

This IP address is registered to Western Australian Internet Association and located in Melbourne or Perth. (Yes, I realize they're not exactly close - different sources claim different things).

You'll have to forgive my ignorance - as a Scot, I'm not personally knowledgeable on Australia and its infrastructure. If you want some baseless assumptions... it could go either way. Melbourne doesn't seem very "western", which lends credence to the notion that it's located in Perth. However hops 2, 3, 4, 6 & 7 have "mel" in their name, which likely represents Melborune. So, out of Perth and Melbourne, I can confidently narrow it down to... Perth or Melbourne.

Whatever the case, it doesn't appear to be a server-side issue or a problem occurring within the network of GGG's ISP, so there's very little they'd be able to do for you. You can try contacting your ISP about it, but often the folks manning the phones are less than stellar when it comes to stuff like routing issues. They mostly exist to argue their company is never at fault.

Unfortunately it's very likely going to be a case of "it'll be fixed when it's fixed." Infrastructure is monitored, so whoever's responsible for fixing it should be aware of the problem - most likely they were aware of it before anyone else noticed it. It's possible they're waiting on replacement hardware to arrive before they can fix it, which could potentially take quite a while.

I'm also getting the same issue

http://pastebin.com/6nBT1pcD

Seems like it's either 218.100.78.56 or an iinet issue.

I'm not seeing anything which would make me blame iinet, tbh. Your WinMTR is also showing packet loss beginning at 218.100.78.56, which is unlikely to be a coincidence.

Having same issues with spikes/packet loss.

218.100.78.0 seems to pop up (when googled) connected to lag spikes, not just iinet.
I'm with iinet BTW.

Anywho, 218.100.78.0 - 218.100.78.255 returned as, Western Australian Internet Association.

Cheers.

I'm having the same issues, as are other Aus friends. My mtr is basically identical to the ones above. Other gateways have zero packetloss for me, seems to be Aus only.
Same issue here super spiky all the time when I normally have a smooth 50ms, with iiNet and in Western Australia.

I've swapped to the Singapore gateway and I'm getting around 60-80ms but very constant so will run with that for now.

Thanks for providing insight and extra data on this issue everyone.

I have sent an email to iinet support requesting that they investigate the dropped frames. If it is still happening tomorrow when I get up I will call them and see if I can get something going that way also.

I directed them to this thread so they can see all the collected data.

They might not understand that. The problem is dropped packets.

Frames are rendered by your CPU and video card. They're not transmitted over the internet.
