64bit client crashing

Totally unplayable
So since any official support is taking too long let's troubleshoot this ourselves.

I'm reinstalling. IIRC only 1 other person ITT has played a while crash-free on a reinstall.

Will update.
2nd post .. Well so far from 10:45am till now at 11:49 i've crashed 20 times trying to level in dried lake in a party. Sometimes just entering the portal. Sometimes i died and click res in town and it crashed.

Getting really annoying that for sure.

make sure to post information about at least a few of your crashes so it might help GGG solve things. i am sure they read threads even if they dont respond all the time.

you should post:
-DXDiag
-log file (current date for the crash only) in the PoE install directory
-..and if you are familiar with Event Viewer that would help too i am sure

just post it all between the Spoiler tags.
Playing for 1 hour after reinstall now, no crashes yet.
Fingers crossed but it's looking good.

For those of you hesitant to reinstall, the steam cloud will save all of your settings - I didn't have to change a single thing except for loading the correct loot filter. It's a 12 GB download on steam.
Maybe it's just me, but when I edited the PoE shortcut on my desktop and changed the compatibility mode to Windows 7, the error went away completely.

My specs: Windows 8.1 Pro x64, 32gb RAM, EVGA GTX1060, i5, SSD
Crashes just today, random places, doing random stuff.

Haven't done DxDiag or anything...but just random crashes with no info.

The most recent crash obviously had something to do with sound files as the sounds actually just cut out (first time this has happened before the crash)....played for another minute or two (trying to get to waypoint before diagnosing sound issue) and crash.

EDIT: uninstalling/reinstalling through cream client...fingers crossed this works and there's no rollback or missing game saves.
If it doesn't work I'll give the compatibility mode a try.

well theres your problem..
new windows is garbage :P

serious though i am running Win7 Pro 64bit. on the DX11(64bit) client PoE just crashes right now. however, for me, in DX9EX(32bit) client PoE works fine and i have been able to play.

perhaps more people can try some compatability mode setting to Win 7 and see if it helps.

hopefully though they fix whatever they broke.

I have all been crashing, I thought it was mainly changing zones from one area to a town, but just recently, I crashed in the middle of a breach. So, I guess its not just transitioning from area to area.
