" We see abandoned babies where abortion is legal and free, where having a baby at a hospital is free, where giving it up for adoption is free (and can even be done at the hospital right after birth). We see abandoned babies in places where it's legal for parents to sell their children, where individuals, charities, organizations offer $1000's for infants, where the government pays mothers over $600 per month per child and offers 1 year maternity leave at 100% of salary. This is primarily a mental health, drugs, illegal/on the run, or sex trade/human trafficking issue. And I'm fucking astonished that within 30 minutes of my prior post people are back to attacking each other with fringe examples or trying to once again frame it as a man vs woman issue (not directed at deathflower). Look, if people want to be stupid, fine, I can be stupid. Here comes the stupid:

Want to know what's worse than abandoned babies in rubbish chute? "Aborted" babies, still alive and strong enough to cry, but left to starve in a bucket on the hospital floor or in a specimen pan with a towel over it. Sometimes they'll put a lid on the bucket to suffocate it faster! SO HUMANE oh my.
Or mutilated chemically burned babies. Instillation abortions (injection of caustic solution into the amniotic sac) take 12+ hours to kill the baby, during which its lungs and skin is burned. Sometimes it doesn't die (google Gianna Jessen, survivor of an instillation abortion at 30 weeks, given Cerebral Palsy as a result of the failed abortion). There are numerous examples, where survivors are blind or suffer other conditions. Sometimes the baby is born viable but chopped up and harvested because the doctors are powerless to stop the abortion. Spend some time talking to nurses and doctors or reading. Neither side has a monopoly on terrible stories. Of course, no one pro abortion supports this stuff. It's just as stupid to use in an argument as abandoned garbage chute babies. FYI, I'm pro abortion. Like the richest 1% who say there's too many people around and selfishly want more resources for themselves, I'm fine promoting abortion. It's pragmatic. If resources were unlimited my preference would be to make abortion illegal after any period where technology allows the baby to survive out of the womb, and have early birth/adoption programs replace abortion after that date, fully funded (only exception to have legal abortion passed that date is to save the mothers life). But with limited resources (huge medical wait times in Canada for example), and limited tax dollars to go around, combined with environmental and sustainability concerns, I support abortion up to age 100.
