yes change the tree, but u have to decide which way u want to go.

a) dw + abyssus: get as much es on gear and jewels as possible ($$$$$$)

b) es shield + abyssus: get a good shield with high es and resists ($$)

c) dw + es helmet: get a good es helmet with acc and resists ($$$)

d) mortem morsu + malachai's vision + lycosidae: get those uniques and gear without acc, focus on chaos dmg ($)

I would go with an ES shield, then u dont need to get new jewels for now.

poe.trade has a lot of 400es+ shield with at least one 40% res for less than 1ex.

get a new Abyssus for 20c, limit search for max 42% increased physical damage taken and at least 200% melee critical strike multiplier.

then check ur resists and get a steel ring and an amulet with high accuracy rating, ur resists and open prefix to craft %ES on them for max 50c each.


u also can check ur rng with some essence crafts


now u should be blank, but hopefully good to go.

I tried to play budget version of this build about 3 days but cant even lvl up from 87. Just dying from everything. All the time. Die die die. 8k ES. Cant kill Izaro, cant kill even double bosses in scriptorium. Leech is too low and dps isnt good. Maybe its not for me, but i tried.

really? well yea the leech with mortem morsu is much lower ofc.
but UnchainedLive plays pretty good with the budget version, prolly because he is much more used to it than any other guy.

I used a little different budget build when I was rerolling the Assassin and it went pretty flawlessly, but I've transitioned from the budget version to Scourge at lvl 72 iirc. So can't say if it is hard to play on later levels. I made a lot of tests with any combination coz I was aware of the Abyssus, I even tried to slot in a crown of eyes and a spell damage shield - sucked tho xD
but I didnt test a normal ES shield together with Abyssus there, because I started to sell all my Inquisitor stuff and gathered high end gear for dual wielding Scourges then - I wanted to know, I wanted to get DW with Abyssus viable for mapping and everything.

now I can say while dual wielding Scourges with Abyssus is the killer over the top, Abyssus + Shield/Scourge is prolly the most balanced way and pretty easy to build.
u dont need ES on any jewel, u only need

400es shield,
200es gloves,
750es chest,
200es boots,
15% es on a ring and amulet
about 150 flat es in sum from belt, ring and amulet

to get over 9k ES

and u will do over 6 Million DPS to Shaper without having any flat phys explicits on ur ammy, steelring or gloves. That already outperforms any Howa-Raider!

I've been checking this in Path of Building with a level 90 Assassin, without any Enchant on Abyssus, so this is doable with a budget of 10-20ex ??

(No Sin's Rebirth, no legacy Voidheart and no Skyforth ofc, so u might throw some traps to get first charges)

Logically there is a lot of headroom for upgrading and on higher levels u can get it to 20 Million Shaper DPS while holding a shield...

Will 3.0 kill this build?
Not only it removes poison stacking, but it also ignores increments (%) to physical damage, which are basically the main sources of damage in this build.

was away for few days, thx for the advises lawyne and kushorange, i upgraded the cwdt gem and using vaal discipline, also using a shield now, 550 es only cost me around 1ex since i dont need the resist. cant really replace my abyssus since it has -arctic armor mana enchant and i want to keep my mana above 100 for qol. es helm with bf enchant and 500es is actually more expensive than abyssus with bf enchant lol
over 11k es now with shield and i dont feel a drop in clearing speed probably cos i only been doing t13-15 maps and havent tried guardians with this char, overall much safer and havent died since

Hey guys, I am a bit of a noob to this game (just started playing like a month and a bit ago)... I have a question regarding Immortal call + Cast when damage taken...

How are we supposed to generate a decent amount of Endurance charges to use it? Is this gem setup actually useful?... I know our magpie skill thing can steal them, however I seem to rarely have endurance charges. Is there some other way to get them? Help is appreciated, thanks : )

I upgrade my build for this budget ver. but the leach is so low! it's hard to keep es at full.

I will try to get better items for 1h+shield.

Another consideration for "budget" gear:


This one slot gives me over 600 flat accuracy, 30% increased ES and about 35% melee phys.
No resists puts a bit more strain on your other gear slots, but these can be picked up for as little as 10c, and compare with well rolled 200+ES gloves.
