President Obama to UN: I Seek "A World Without Nuclear Weapons" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiUL4Xl2CCE&feature=youtu.be
USA goverment are such a liars.

Nah, it's more like idiot people who actually believed that. US and the rest of the world were sick of listening to the warmonger Bush for eight years and embraced the sweet lies Obama was selling. Obama is/was very good at convincing the audience to eat bullshit, while he was pursuing the same exact Neocon (foreign) policies as Bush before him.

Politicians will lie 100% of the time no matter what, because that is their job. It's on you if you decide to believe the lies or challenge them. I was mesmerized by Obama in 2008 too, but I didnt believe a word he said on nuclear weapons.

Yep, Obama is quite the charmer. He's what a modern polititian is supposed to be: a slick and convincing liar with tons of charisma. Sad but true, facts of modern 'democracy'.
You have to be realistic about these things.

The world has jet to see a nuclear cataclysm. I wouldn´t be to shore if allies stay the same, there are multiple outcomes, like nuking the closest nukes or nuking the first strike country.

I quess it´s litarly impossible to beat russia and China (not that i would want it), to big to many people, harsh terrain, a lot of natural ressources etc.

Besides, the first thing russia would do is overthrow europe/parts asia, because it´s the closest threat, that´s why Amerika has no problem puting all of there toy´s into Romania, turkey, poland.

Both the USA and russia are equal aggresor´s. Instead, that the russian seperatist´s leave the ukrain (russia is big enough), no they wan´t to seperate, regardless that the land was stolen none the less. Putin support´s them and act´s if that would be there absolute right to rebel. And what we get in our media, Look Ukrainian Nazi´s,..ugauga so evil because they wan´t to keep there Homeland.

Both sides always waged there wars in a third country, and allied if a third party could surpase them. In reality, they are one side of the same coin. There are many cases were ex soviet-kommis became american agents, politian´s and vise verse.
One way to think about it is that both US and Russia consist of a huge number of individuals with different views, likes and dislikes and such. The "average citizen" is an abstract construct and doesn't mean anything.

The governments on the other hand are not really individuals, they don't operate on the same moral scale and don't take the same things into account when making decisions. For example, "liking/hating" doesn't matter one bit, when security or profits are at stake. It's not "we dislike you so we will nuke you", it's more "we need to nuke you for some other reason, so our propaganda machine will try to make sure our populace dislikes you, so we don't have to deal with dissent" (you can substitute "nuke" with any other hostile/offensive measure, military or diplomatic or economical).

Russian propaganda uses pretty much the same values US one does as well. Focus on patriotism, overseas enemies, high moral ground etc., but opinion of US varies from person to person, like everywhere else.

@Bars
Saying that populace in Russia is ethnically homogeneous is far from the truth. There are a lot of immigrants from former soviet republics as well as just significant percent of population being non-white non-orthodox christian. Which in turn leads to a pretty ugly xenophobic, nationalist attitude in some portion of population. Culture clash problem is similar to what a lot of other countries facing nowadays, just less pronounced and less focused on (partly cause of tighter government control over mass media).

True, I was speaking more about my country and other smaller Eastern European countries. Russia is vast and much more ethnically diverse, point taken.

Actually you can switch "US/America" for any other country there and still have more or less precise description of that country. Well, for some of them you'd also have to switch "patriotism" with "religion", but that's all you'd need to do.

I agree, the USA isn't the only one who does it. I'm sure the same type of sentiment exists in Russia for similar reasons. It usually amounts to catchy slogans that encourage people to tow specific lines.
Bellum iustum

Back in the good ol'days, the Romans justified all the wars as being just - much like some trans-atlantic nation is doing now.

Do the people in the US really think, that bombing countless countries and killing people on other countries with drones will make them lovable?
I dont think any powerful country would even dream of starting a war with someone who could fight back now days given how ridiculous modern weaponry is. M.A.D is a reality that has only got more certain over time.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

Let us hope that no court fool will remind any of our kings about that thing they all forgot.
