I skip them too. No fun there - wait, go, wait, go, wait, go...

6 months ago these f'n mazes GGG calls labyrinths turned me right the f off the game.
So I come back thinking yay new expansions new drops new mechanism new fun. I was right. Had some fun right up until i thought to try these f'n mazes GGG calls labs. So f'n frustrating.
I'll be the first to admit I am terrible at puzzles and friggin' seeriously dislike mazes. But f'n hell. I friggin' gave up again after an hour of f'n around in a normal friggin' lab.
I was trying to follow the daily lab reddit report but found a room with three exits and none led forward. Three exits are indicated on reddit with no secret passages. I was probably longer than a friggin' hour trying to stumble my clothie way through this f'n thing.
I just want my Necromancer and I will never again set foot in this friggin' thing again.
gah
ya i'm bad and ya i need to l2p and i probably need to suck it up and try again but f i feel a strong, strong, strong dislike of mazes. And the thing is, true 'labyrinths' are the complete opposite of these lessons in perseverance. Walking a proper 'labyrinth' is a journey in self-discovery. You find yourself in a labyrinth and lose yourself in a maze.
I suppose I will find a Necromancer in this maze but bloody friggin' hell.

Problem solved. Well this seems like true journey for self discovery in your case. You seem like you never player anything more difficult then sims when this is hard. So use this to discover other side one that craves challenge.

Yeah gotta wait a sec for charge to kick in. Running low life and after they fixed the crazy damage it's fine.

It's the real problem: To put a barrier of kwnownledge a bit before the act 4 in normal. It makes no sense at all.
1st off, how is that a barrier when it is not mandatory in order to continue to act 4? I never do the lab when I'm in the current act 3. If you want to do it you can, but no one is forcing you to do it immediately.

Also, labyrinth is not HARD. it's ultra easy when you know what you do, geared or not, over leveled or not. But when you are "ignorant", it can be extremely difficult, even undoable.
Aren't you noticing that this is true for almost all of the content in the game? Why would labyrinth be a pushover when you need the same prerequisites for merciless, for maps, for atziri, for shaper? It is the essence of the game to research and inform yourself about the encounters if you want to do them flawlessly.
My cousin who seems to enjoy the game would never get into maps if I don't force some knowledge on him, let alone do Izaro. He already died 2-3 times in the lab on his own and will probably need my help in order to finish it, but why is that a problem? He is having fun discovering new things in the game, so that time is not "wasted". No time is wasted as long as you are having fun. And frankly, if the game is no longer fun for you you might need to find a new one, not bitch about it all day long.
A constructive criticism post would be good enough, but this constant yapping about how people hate lab is really disturbing. Even if they decide to change the current situation it won't be because you keep playing the game and are feeling bad every time you go though lab. They will do it if you provide some feedback on their game and if you stop playing it (which will be beneficial for you if you instead have fun with other games).
Dafuck, do you realize that you compare ENDGAME to act3 normal ascendancy....? ARE YOU CRAZY?! If it's meant to be undoable by beginners like your cousin, why is it in NORMAL?
some rare ppls will love it, sure! Similar to the masochists who play Super meat boy. Addicted to the frustration or Maybe they dont feel frustration at all, only pleasure when slaped.
So you agree that it's not doable by your cousin alone? Sorry but for me it's just a frustrating experience, punishing for NO REASON and it's at the opposite of the fun.
Is your cousin happy to be unable to do content of his level because the said content is not adapted to his progression?
Sure, he can go back later, but is it really how it should be done? HI i'm 80 i come to kill you izaro lvl 30 cuz you raped before imma rape you now.
to be slapped in the face by the core mechanics of the game while visiting the labyrinth for the first time is totally overhelming.
Why is it disturbing? we think differently, the vocal minority thinks that the labyrinth is fine. Be disturbed if you want, nothing will change, ppls will complain because of this or that. They can do it, listen if you want or move away.
And i'm fine with the other parts of the game, i love PoE and i want it to improve. not to regress with bad things like the labyrinth.
I will never be good but always I try to improve. Last edited by Geisalt#1772 on Oct 10, 2016, 9:41:23 AM

I'm unsure about the personal attack here, labyrinth can be very easy depending of a lot of factors and extremely hard with some other factors. Please restrain yourself, maybe he can climb the Everest without oxygen bottle.

@geisalt
What personal attack ? Restrain? What the actual fuck man this is not place to white knight...
This is pure whining of course it is about many factors that is whole freaking point of this game.

LOL. Yes, the vocal "minority". It is literally the exact opposite of this. The vocal minority is responsible for the constant string of "WAHHH I SUCK AT LAB SO IT SHOULD BE REMOVED" threads on this forum. Literally EVERY DAY there is a new thread on this subject.
U MAD?

It makes sense for the lab to be what it is considering the amount of power you get from the points and enchantments.
I really hope they keep it as it is.
..and to be honest, I haven't seen many opinions on how to improve/change the way it works.
Traps can be avoided and also need to be avoided most of the time, which goes for a lot of endgame map damage mods too. You are also not forced to do them and the first 6 points are rather easy to manage.
Someone suggested that you'd get 2 points per completing a difficulty and maybe the last 2 from some end game map, but that seems way too linear in my opinion.
