Season One, Race Event 4: Three Hour Solo

Man I did not expect to win.

The start of my run was a mess. I skipped Hailrake and ran to Ledge, then the client timed-out as I was loading Ledge and kicked me out. I didn't have Submerged Passage waypoint.

Decided to just double back and kill Hailrake, then ran all the way back to Ledge 'again'. My DPS didn't start kicking off until a good bit into the race, and I ran through the Pyramid and past Vaal so underlevelled everything was scary. Got to City of Sarn, farmed there until I felt ready, and ran straight to Docks. A lucky chest drop and a fire ring I bought in Act 2 town after reaching Docks gave me capped fire resist and plenty of armor.

An absurd number of close calls as I pushed it hard due to my bad start.

By the way, this saved my ass 3 times in Sins:

GG everyone. :)

Found this early in game, was like bloody hell yes! then realised I couldn't use it for several levels...pfft..

296th
If GGG chickens made an action RPG, what would it be called? Path of Eggxile, a Peck 'n' Slash RPG.
Why was the helmet spluttering? It was a coif.
Got 31 overall, 6th as Duelist. Pretty much just farmed Western for the entire time. Definitely do it differently in the future.

GG. Yeah, that docks farming can be though as a marauder, didn't progress to docks until 30 minutes remaining. Had a good race all around.

wow, you won with that gear. Awesome. There's no way I could have done anything nearly what you did. Really well played. I can't say anything else. Here was my gear. I was sweeper. I took my gems out, but my gear was pretty decent...

Horrific RNG for this run; things didn't start picking up until about 20 minutes after I made it to act 2.

Ended up dying due to desync 4k exp before 20.

Oh well, at least I learned a new build. Shame that melee is so horribly affected by desync; first ever HC death, first time really playing a full on melee character.

I sure won't be doing a melee build again until they've fixed the desync.
I don't mean to sound rude, but I can't help the way people interpret my words.
Damnit I need some tips for playing a witch in 3 hours. I got 1 hour down pretty good. Generally end up 16-17 on my prac runs. This caused me to be at least top 10 witch after 1:10 or something, then I just hit a brick wall.

I had big issues killing the bandits even though I was lvl 22 or something when I did it.
I went fireball -> freeze pulse -> fire trap -> firestorm -> added lightning -> increased crit. I tried firestorm with the links ( got a 3L early ) and I swapped it for linked FP near 2 hour mark...

For passives I picked mostly dmg points, but still seems I had issues with dealing damage. I kept dropping in rank (overall and witch) in the last hour big time.

What am I missing?

Any tips appriciated!
Damnit didnt get my 3 points. Allmost made it in 2 hours i had. Maybe next time.
GZ myapeli.

After Marauder death I rerolled to Ranger @ 30-35min of the race, took act 1 slowly and transitioned to western forest yolo dual quicksilver PA+RoA farming.

Results: 27 lvl +71%, #92 overall #20 Ranger.

I really want to do well as Marauder but I need to get better at handling desync issues in risky situations. I guess I'll be racing with all classes to get some experience and feel for each.

I don't feel any of the excitement that I used to feel in CB.

Sorry to take so much out. But this is exactly how I feel.

Not sure why. But well:

I think it's because as long as you got to a reward tier in closed beta, you would have got a reward even if it was only 5 random currency. You would still have a chance of getting an exalt or even just a gcp for your time. That was have the reason to do most of the races for me even when there was no chance of winning. Now it's just a grind for the points.

The races are still fun competing with everyone but you pretty much know what your getting now.
