Season One, Race Event 4: Three Hour Solo

Hi guys! I'm new to this so please clarify something for me :) In the event, I died just a few minutes after turning level 20, does that mean I'm not qualify to get any points at all?

Thanks

Yes, you need to stay alive.

Sorry to take so much out. But this is exactly how I feel.

Not sure why. But well:

I think it's because as long as you got to a reward tier in closed beta, you would have got a reward even if it was only 5 random currency. You would still have a chance of getting an exalt or even just a gcp for your time. That was have the reason to do most of the races for me even when there was no chance of winning. Now it's just a grind for the points.

The races are still fun competing with everyone but you pretty much know what your getting now.

Indeed, I've been playing too many games where grinds for points/badges whatever was done to death and it's not something that adds excitement.. Rather it makes things very boring very quickly.
This system also "forces" you to participate in every race to get the highest reward, unless you consistantly win or do well in the races you do play in ofc.
At any rate the current form of rewards is heading in a direction I'm not really fond of.

Are you really complaining that you either have to win or participate to get something man?

1. Have no stupid armor movement penalty, what is this 1997?

This is not 1997, no, but that doesn't mean we need to remove limitations from characters in games. The movement speed penalty creates more strategical options. Armor gives defense, but sometimes you have to trade survivability for speed. It's a constant, interesting choice for characters until later in the race.

2. Get vendors that have every white item. Its stupid as hell the RNG sometimes.

I can agree a bit that the RNG can be a little brutal overall. They could have a wider variety of white items in vendors, I mean we still have to craft them ourselves. Maybe balance it with minor increase in costs.

3. Get some melee love. If Poison arrow isnt getting nerfed, and it doesnt seem like it is, time to renormalize Ground Slam. Playing melee is a chore in every aspect of the game at the moment. That and give marauders some love in the mana department.

I feel melee is decently strong, but suffers from very few usable specs. I'm hoping more skill diversity will improve that. There's a lot of repeated gems in early quest rewards anyway, we could have more variety.

Right now races feel extremely stale. We get minimal rewards, about the only reason is to race for a Demi. I'm not saying that I have a solution, but I don't feel any of the excitement that I used to feel in CB.

I too was a bit disappointed with the lack of improvements and diversity with the OB races. I'm hoping they will pick up the pace with upcoming seasons. I still REALLY want progression-focused races primarily. Perhaps a petition of some sort is in order so the devs can see how many people would be happy with their addition.

Imo the exitement that the races had in CB (like not knowing wat you eventually end up with) kept you wanting to do more, and with this system it feels more like grinding dungeons in wow to cap your valor points (mind you this is for a player like myself that got to lvl23, 20 mins till race end and will likly never see a Demi in his inventory).

And while it is still fun to race the feeling that the previous CB races did have is gone

How the fuck do you manage to miss the point so flawlessly? Do you have some kind of disability?

Im moreso pointing out that this structure of rewards will be a tedious grind for the average player rather then being exciting like it was in closed beta.

For us experienced racers the grind to get the rewards we want won't be that bad.
Especially since they put the best reward at 60 points (well imo atleast ;) ) but thats a discussion for another thread.

Wow thanks. I didn't fully understand the event standard rules. I was just happy that I got to level 20 on time and leap slam into a rare mob lol
