This, and many other questions I've seen repeatedly asked, have been answered in the OP.

On the topic of races:

I do feel like the RP should scale with the length of the event. It feels kind of weird getting 3 points for 1 hour and then 3 points for 3 hours of work today :/

I agree with Mors on most points. The armor/shield movement penalty needs to be removed or the penalty lowered and the base character movement speed improved. Vendor rng should be restricted to blue items- they should always have at least one of each base item associated with their current itemlevels. And the current prize structure needs work, as theres not much for those who arent top racers to look forward to. The side quests now feel completely pointless, so much risk and time lost for so little reward.

Poison arrow could use some balancing too. Its too effective and too gear/resource friendly in races for a playstyle with such minimal risk.

Poor race; no move boots till act 3, ran out of scrolls twice, found two large chests which are dead end wastes of time, had several awful map seeds that took 2-3x the normal time to run and to top it all off i made a major socketing error that probably cost me 15 minutes all by itself. Desync was an issue as well and caused a couple bails. Nevertheless reached city of sarn with a lil less than an hour to go and grinded to an average finish.

Level 29.5, 5th place shadow and 21st overall in the end.

Can't believe I got #2 Marauder :) Really lucked out with drops and rolls. First time I've made it to docks in a race.

Sadly I died to a awful pack of exploding mobs in the cavern of wrath at lvl 12 and gave up. I could've tried to make it to 21 again but there were only 2:10 left.

I tried all classes in test races and its kinda sad to see that everyone plays a shadow (including me). There should be rewards for "first" for every class. Always a shadow that kills Hillock, kinda boring and the devs should fix that ASAP!

Has to be said though, awesome awesome game!

Happened to me too. Got temp chained and was bombed out of the race with my lvl 13 witch (played solo). ... first time this happened to me, as i realy be cautios with this combo.

witches are a bit weak in races too. you realy need some luck with gear to be able to survive mistakes. and again i haven't found flask upgrades not to speak from instant recovery.
well today is another day, another try ;)

Chris, is there any chance of some stats of how many people died during a race? I am sadistic and chuckle watching global announce deaths but just wondered what the full slaughter stats are >:) The ranking only shows those who didn't die, it might suggest not that 'many' people entered.
