...so I'm pretty sure I'm at least as "old" as you are. My point was that if there is no challange, it doesn't give you a taste of accomplishment (unless you don't know better of course). And the game got considerably easier lately, no question about that.

If there is no challange, there is no point in playing. You might as well feel rush of power when you squish the ants I mentioned.

/edit: "Hellfire" was expansion for "Diablo".

nope, it's just that the game obviously doesn't provide enough challenges for players like i_no anymore.

the player base divides into skilled/unskilled and occasional/noLife players where she is in the skilled/noLife corner.

the game has been different, there were parts (areas, not bosses) that couldn't be mastered by > 90% of all builds, tha's where poe made a difference to other games in closed beta and i always tried to motivate ggg to keep it that way.

kind of failed, most players now just need some items for 5 chaos, copy a overpowered build using the current meta and sink some serious hours into the game to succeed at highest levels. this is intended but where does that leave the skilled/minMax/nolifer crowd? most of them stop at some weeks after temp leagues because they got bored.

i_no just doesn't know yet that she needs more challenges ;-)

Thank you for voicing your opinion btw, had no idea that people can consiously feel like the game is easy but still find it appealing and have a sense of accomplishment even though they know it's handed to them. I thought you need to lie to yourself to do that but you proved otherwise.

i know and many skilled nolifers do several builds a league to keep themselves busy.

but what i (and probably op) mean is, the game should provide content for you to only play one char and feel like you haven't beaten the game at the end of temp league.

poe doesn't really scale anymore for the 4 different groups of people i mentioned, my solution was to implement "diminishing returns" mechanics to solve this problem which got neglected by most.
i don't understand why, even if you haven't beaten all game content you would still be among the crowd that went farest into the game.

like only some players in closed beta ever reached "malstroem of chaos", there were next to no complaints of other players because they accepted that their builds weren't able to do that content because they weren't able to handle multiple auras and got the neccessary gear.

sadly poe got massively streamlined when it comes to difficulty, we got flooded by the "omg i got oneshot" and "why is there content in the game i can't play just because i'm a bad player" crowds ... poe needs to get harder with also providing more easily accessible mechanics.

that 90 pages long mechanics thread of mark_ggg quite shows the fiasco they created by failing to have terms that clearly communicate the ingame tech to the average player.
