I don't think there is anything remotely like a simple legal fix for this. I think it would take a carefully constructed and length constitutional amendment to properly allow free speech, yet limit the effect that money has on elections. It's more of a cultural thing, if you ask me. You can't make people resist ownership without instilling selflessness and something akin to patriotism. Think of Stan Lee's cameo in the first Avengers movie... or the student blocking a tank in Tienanmen Square.

The one thing which can't be done, is legislate it. The entity making the laws is, at that point in such a situation, an evil; the man with the gun at your head makes the laws. We're talking about defiance, not compliance.

Has anyone stopped to consider that maybe screaming WOLF! for 20 years has completely damaged beyond repair any credibility to these attacks? I've been educating myself on the Clintons lately, and for every (somewhat) legitimate outrage from the right, there's a completely fucking insane one being touted by the same people. (All of these things lead me to big fat nothing burgers... I've yet to see anything beyond normal sleazy politicking)

Yet, for all these accusations and theories and attempts at prosecution and ETC... Neither of them are in jail, or are in any danger of being there. So, either the Clintons are:

1) Incredibly lucky
2) Criminal masterminds- the likes of which the world has never seen- bordering on cartoonish supervillainy
3) The target of the usual Right Wing attacks.

1 is unlikely. Highly unlikely. 2 is fucking ridiculous. So I guess that leaves........

At this point, my opinion of the Clintons would be changed only by a CSPAN feed of Hillary shooting someone execution-style on the floor of the senate. Not because I'm some sheeple who won't wake upppp!!!!!1!!, but because the Right has muddied the water so fucking much that I won't be bothered to look into any of their ridiculous shit anymore.

Apparently, the specific branch of hardened criminals you are refering to are tax payers with work permits who contribute to your economy. Their attempt to affect the election easily falls under freedom of speach wich in most civilized parts of the world is a basic human right and not a special priveledge limited to local citizens. Maybe nobody told you, but the Confederacy was effectivly dissolved 1865.

I agree with your starting premise. Had the far right not acted like lunatics for the last 20 years, and had congressional republicans not witch-hunted at the drop of a pin every chance they got vis a vis the Clintons, they could have actually taken a principled stand of outrage for justice when Comey recommended case closed.

I'd take a more holistic view on your three above points though.

1) Lucky at times (and in some ways you make your own luck by playing the game in a certain way)
2) Criminal masterminds (of course they don't see it that way, Robin Hood was a criminal mastermind too, right?)
3) Calling in of favors owed (well connected)
4) Liberal utilization of quid pro quos, both political and economic (forging of new connections)
5) The target of frequent, and at times loony, right wing attacks (diluting the efficacy of legitimate inquiries)
6) Leftist and left sympathetic MSM
7) Increasingly apathetic citizenry (apathetic when it comes to action, they're more than happy to rail against things on FB/Twitter for all the good that does)

I don't find it unreasonable that those 7 forces can conspire to keep someone free from prosecution who otherwise would have been prosecuted absent those forces.
