I agree with the fact that "Less communication is always a bad thing". But when it comes to a lot of players in these forums, it isn't really the lack of communication that's the problem, but the fact that they're not being heard on their personal, subjective views.

Let's take one of the fantastic "lab threads" as an example. Huge amounts of manure being thrown at GGG based on subjective views on a small part of the game. Communication wouldn't have helped. Chris bending over for the mob is the only thing they would've accepted.

But I do miss the GGG tags in threads. If it only were to tell us "no, this will not happen".

You can't possibly believe that. Those posts you speak of would only stop if the dev said exactly what the posters wanted to hear. Otherwise the same posts would exist to argue that the dev is wrong and should change his stance. Look back at some of the longest threads that include a dev post. Unless they lock the thread, the posts keep filling the thread with people arguing that the official stance is bad.

1. you don't like the content other people do, YOU are being a dick about it.

2. Irrelevant, if you were playing enough to get to level 100 then it cost you at worst another month of play...otherwise it means absolutely nothing to you because you wouldn't be getting there regardless...so YOU are being a dick about it.

3. Leagues will never please everyone, YOU are being a dick about it.

4. I'll agree that it could be better, but YOU are still being a dick about it, they only have limited resources to test this stuff, they catch almost all the stuff but there are some things that slip through due to it being rare or a combination of things that are unique to a player that they never thought of...it's something they are always working on, YOU being a dick about it helps no one.

5. it's actually a decent enough engine, sure it needs some work (guess what they are using a load of money and dev time doing?) YOU being a dick about it dose not help.

So to sum it up, stop being a dick...try being constructive and realizing that they are not blizzard or any other massive game developer, they don't have billions of dollars to throw around, they don't have hundreds of staff to devote to a problem.

If only there was a badge that GGG employees could attach along with official communication posts and not include it when they are just participating in the community where the lack of that badge means what they say has no real/official weight. If only that were possible.

Wouldn't make a difference. People would still say "Chris said" and act the same way whether he had on his official hat or his regular dude hat. They would still try to tell him he's wrong and scrutinize everything he said.

I saw a post last week explaining why they don't answer often to forum threads.
Think it was about every GGG member statement could be taken as official or out of context.
I think it was here to clarify they are reading the forum but they can't answer as much as they would due to that.

Proof they are reading the forum and more than all your forum threads Emperor they removed trials on all characters and changed that to only one character a while ago :)

Forums are a mess BECAUSE of GGG's lack of involvement.

The average player just sees that GGG is not involved in forums and just assumes this is because GGG does NOT care about the forums.

So if GGG doesn't care about forums, why should the average PoE player?

This is basic Psych 101, but after 3 years we want to scratch our heads and wonder why this place has consistently been getting worse.

See all those lab threads? If GGG was more involved in dialoguing with the community about their thoughts on the lab and why they feel it is a good addition to the game - we wouldn't have fucking 200 threads complaining about lab.

By now most of the people with good insights/feedback have left forums after realizing it's a fucking waste of their time.
