Premium Tabs are pay to win

If I remember correctly GGG justified them being p2w due to free alternatives, though this doesn't address that the alternatives are not equal so there is still some degree of p2w. But the good news is this suggests they won't money wall something that doesn't have a free alternative.

The deeper i get into this game, and the more stuff like this that comes to the surface the less and less i'm motivated to play. The trading system even with a premium stash tab is literally horrible. Why not have a system similar POE.TRADE in game? why do i have to alt tab, make a forum post to sell things? I mean i guess if GGG thinks thats like fun or whatever it's their game.

I disagree, but that disagreement is based on my own definition of ptw, and it will vary from person to person.

Ptw for me is being able to buy advantage, without there being an alternative to the advantage that you can not also employ in a reasonable amount of time for free. Setting up trade without premium stash tabs is not difficult, nor is it a huge time sink. It does take longer, but that is the tradeoff for playing for free. The second layer would be, NOTHING that drops in game should ever be sold for real money.

Now we can go back and forth on what is ptw and what is not, but that will never amount to anything, because of the personal definitions we adhere to.

Sure, there are alternatives.
Sure, you dont actually "win" in path of exile.
And, sure you can play with only 4 tabs.

You can also walk to work every day.
You can sit on your ass and jump from cheek to cheek and get yourself to work.
And, sure you dont even have to trade at all.

Stash tabs that are purchase only and enable trade, in a game where trade is paramount according to Chris Wilson, are pay 2 win by any stretch of the term.
I don't have anything against the model of pay 2 win in general.
I am just stating that something goes against what Chris Wilson used to say often.
Path of Exile will never be a pay to win game.

FIFA also is there to keep the even playing field and offer equal opportunities to its member countries.
FIFA heads get accused of fixing matches and what not.

I played this game for a long time, and recently many things are rubbing me the wrong way.
It is not fatigue, its the devs taking wrong turn after wrong turn in my opinion.

Easy solution would Just give every account one premium tab for free. Probably give more incentive to buy extras as well for players that have never used one.

They can't even time lab runs correctly yet toss up a ladder with rewards around it. Everything they do is just half-assed. I supported them for the first few years thinking that they would grow out of their amateur status, but they seem to just be getting worse, more lazy and apathetic instead of caring about their product :/ Guess whatever gets them more supporter packs and mtx sales.

I agree that they are half assing almost everything.
World of Warcraft is an excellent example of how to do a trading system.
All the excuses in the world dont satisfy me any more.
PoE is probably the best game i ever played in an online environment, but when it comes to trade, qol and general GOALS of the devs lately... i am lost for words... what the hell is happening.

When you consider that they balance the game around trade, but keep trading obscure only to feed the really committed players that will sink the time and possibly programming skills to own the market.

In my honest opinion, i think that GGG got too big, and the things that were the basis in their heads that lead to great ideas is now changed.

btw, lab sucks

I agree strongly that premium tabs are pay to win, especially after the trade tab modification. I'm not sure it's such a big deal though. It's a low price entry point, and if you're really interested in supporting path of exile it's nothing to be upset about. Plus there is availability of third party alternatives. I think it would be a much bigger deal if they were selling items, or experience.

Comments about lab, eh, I don't care so much, but the uber lab trials are a real hassle to find.

You can buy 20 tabs. I can buy 1. Someone else can buy 5.
And i dont really care, im arguing on principle.
Principles lead to ideas, and i dont like the fact that GGG is breaking their principles.

Premium stash tabs are pay to win and there is no getting around that.

But its not a big deal quite honestly and besides $5 is nothing considering what a great game this is and the amount of hours of entertainment we get out of it.

None complains about spending $60 US on COD every year for the same exact game with 0 recoil.

Again we need to be honest on both side Premium Stash are Pay to win but its not a huge issue and $5 is cheap.
