Help me not be the victim of a ninja...
" What a pointless post. This is not a FFA loot system; we all know what the OP means by 'Ninja'. Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? This means that a softcore character dying ONCE at level 85+ can lose many days of progress. Last edited by GhostlightX#1022 on Feb 19, 2013, 8:43:11 AM

" Well I was just stating what I do. Just to tell you can also be a respectuf Ninja, or at least not a too jerk one. And when I host maps its always "Loot by name" and I only throw little level maps the time needed to observe party. So yes its never a 100% protection but folks quickly understand they gain more running free maps higher and higher. And after few maps runnned its near 99% respected. So well best we can do I believe. And at the end you finish having trustfull friends for when needed (maps to exp needs to be done safely --> I always also add a "don't open chests when monsters are still alive"). And then, from time to time, a lil Dock game to Ninja for my greater pleasure :p |

" Item drops with your name on. Someone else picks it up when timer runs out. Too difficult? Don't bother replying with "technically that isn't stealing" please, WE KNOW. No one plays by the in-game rules anyway, and picking up an item that had another's name it is stealing / ninjaing / whatever. Now you understand, you'll never have to make the above post again, yeah? Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? This means that a softcore character dying ONCE at level 85+ can lose many days of progress.

" There aren't two main lines, there is one and it's number (2). Who joins or creates a group that uses the in-game loot rules? Very few people. In fact I've yet to find a group where the standard rules were used. It's always (2). But make sure you establish this before you play in any group. Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? This means that a softcore character dying ONCE at level 85+ can lose many days of progress.

" Free for all if they have good ping, which is why this system is stupid. Yesterday in group we dropped rare item with my name on it. I was standing right next it, clicking, I swear I picked it up. Nope, it wasn't in my eq, some ninja with better ping took it. Last edited by orzewoi#6957 on Feb 19, 2013, 8:50:00 AM

woooo Things with "increased" and "decreased" in the tooltip are additive ... where as "More" or "Less" are multiplicative ...

There are no ninjas in this game*.
The system is free for all, no matter what you want to think. All it does differently is give a small advantage to a randomly assigned party member, which is NOT the same as saying the loot is yours. I do not care what you think and I will pick everything on the ground, unless explicitly agreed beforehand. Feel free to complain. Ways to minimize this include having higher move speed, using frost wall or flicker strike, not being a screen away from drops and, of course, not joining public parties. *Pictured: A game with actual ninjas http://www.cafecomgames.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/141.jpg Last edited by AdvancedWind#6876 on Feb 19, 2013, 9:07:17 AM

"Path of Exile needs a Skill Gem that lets you throw excess loot for damage. |

" Only the timer is "YOURS"... Once that timer expires its ...wait for it.... "FREE FOR ALL" Now YOU understand and you will never, eeeeeeeeeeeever complain about people stealing items again... Bottom line, if anyone complaings about random drops in public games getting stolen, htey should shut the hell up. Seriously. |

I personally employ a squad of crack commandos on five minute alert.
If someone ninjas my gear, they orbitally insert and apply direct, overwhelming force. Alternatively. I play solo, or don't give a hoot about the loot. Closed beta member since: March 19, 2012
