Help me not be the victim of a ninja...

Have good ping or forget about drops in group. That's how loot system works in this game.

First post on this forum and many of you will call me a Douche, I Apologyze for it...

Well : please don't do anything for god sake, else who will I loot?

Seriously some answers were given : Quicksilver, Ms boots, not being too far from melee, priorityze Loot (wich you'll do naturally in a few days)

But now let me give you some devil advices : join us Ninja. Take tha Loot! All tha Loot! All your loots are belong to us.

This being said I always respect named party :
- No Ninja --> I don't Ninja
- FFA --> I don't go because people are cautious
- Maps to opener --> don't fuck with this rule! ...nah really don't fuck with it
- Anything else --> THIS IS THE PARTY YOU ARE LOOKING FOR - LOOT IS HERE WAITING FOR YOU.

Capslock mode off. Hope my commentary helped.

And don't forget to enjoy the game.

Edit : last advice --> click click click until loot is in your inventory. Dunno why, maybe cause latency but one click often finish as me not having tha item. Which makes me sad.

Edit 2 : if you wish to join tha devil side, PM me and i'll give you technics too ninja more efficiently.

Be nice. Congratulate people on levels/drops. It's harder to steal from a nice guy than a jerk.

This! So much this.
Work on your behaviour. Accept the social component of shared loot and behave according to it. I got to know so many people in public games just by being nice. One day I played with a guy for quite a while in Fellshrine and in the end we were arguing about a regal that dropped offscreen ("It is not mine, it is yours!" "No it´s not. You had less drops than me so this one MUST be yours..." "nah, that´s the reason it cannot be mine") it was somehow ridiculous. We were just ninjaing wisdom-scrolls to make fun of each other. I had such a good time with that dude and we are still playing together. Planning on doing maps together now and I am sure it will be hell of a lot of fun.
In the end it all comes down to psychology. Approach other people as players and not some guys running around with you and they will start to treat you in a fair and mannered way.

Hold on to yer shite load o´ bloody barnacles on me arse-cockles, me hearty!

Anybody have any tips to reduce the amount of items that are stolen from you in pugs?

I like to play in groups vs solo, but just got fed up today when a unique was ninja'd from me. I am a caster and don't have the greatest ping, so sometimes it takes a second to pick something up.

Do I just need to stick with playing friends?
best solution play solo
Wow the post from the forum mod on page one what a total jackass. Guess what Mr. forum mod a large portion of the community considers this behavior to be ninja. You may disagree but its still the case that many of us feel it sucks and its abhorrent behavior and we choose to call it ninjaing. The OP came here asking for help with his issue and you had nothing constructive to add and your a mod. Shouldn't you i dunno actually be doing something useful instead of harassing people with the" it is not ninja and no loot belongs to anyone until its in there bag" dribble, especially when it isn't on topic if you want to make your feelings known on the loot issue keep it to the loot thread. I believe that is the party line your supposed to be moderating to anyhow.

Pathetic totally pathetic behavior from a mod. You may not accept the definition of ninja but you fit the definition of troll. Try to stay on topic the OP wants help not to have yet another fanboy crusader for this piece of crap loot system come and fuck with him he has obviously had enough of that in pug games.

To the op i highly recommend you find a group of friends to game with as until then you will just keep loosing your loot. I have the same problem just slightly slow pickup times I often in a pug would click an item before the timer was up and be next to it and still it would not go to my bag and someone would get it. For now i only play solo or with some RL friends and we play by loot rules , of course we also trade w/e gear is good for anyone in the group to them so it works out nicely.

TLDR op has an issue wants help with solutions keep your opinions on ninjas and the loot system to the thread they are supposed to be in.

The real question is, how do you stop Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from stealing your items?
Don't farm sewers.

invest in Frost Wall (extra duration support gem helps). Wall them ninjas away from your loot and their loots. Proceed to loot whatever you want.

"No ninja" in party name is kinda silly. If someone will drop something really good, like unique item or exalted orb - party members will try to ninja it anyway. And what can you do to them, kick from the group? Lol, like they care.

i guess you mean this "There is no such thing as ninjaing in a FFA system.
When your name goes off the item, anyone can pick it up.
Unless the item is in your inventory, it is not yours."

well he is right he didnt even overeacted imo i got a tip for you basicly its not ninjaing its free for all loot and u get a couple of seconds on your stuff your the badguy for judging a mod on doing what he supose to do explaining how the system works andwell he did that pretty good actualy

remember THERE ARE NO NInJAS HERE ITS FREE FOR ALL LOOT

just for the reccord i dobnt play multi player games and one of the major reasons if that ffa but do u see me go crying evrywhere ? no i just go play on my solo game
Oh, a good tip to avoid getting Ninja'd is to make sure you clean out your inventory to the vendor or stash once in awhile. I managed to score a Unique because the player that was supposed to have it kept fumbling it around like a hot potato due to having a full inventory.
