Over half my characters end up wearing this:
I know it has no life, but the resists, chaos resist and +1 to gems is usually too annoying to work around so i just end up using it. Especially the chaos resist. And it's so cheap, only 1 chaos usually. Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea:

This is the first time I've had one of these and wow does it come in handy! It's permanently in my Marauders Inventory ready to swap in for any map that has chilled ground. I just run over it like it isn't there :) |

I must say I absolutely adore the Advancing Fortress. It is my unused off hand again because, while I thought I was using dual strike, I accidentally double strike. This hits (and crits) more often, and I think most of my damage comes from Blade Vortex anyway. A bit of evasion, a bit of reflect, a ton of block with a free fortify.
It will be missed when I replace my Essentia Sanguis with a nice Gemini claw, and it makes way for a Ungil's Gauche. | |
