The main reason might be while chris is right on other tasks like farming items /currency, boss running, trading, etc. you can do everything without maps except gaining exp.
In order to go past 90 you have to map therefore you have to craft maps, therefore you have to trade. Thats a lot of "have tos" for what I call the backbone of the game: gaining exp, building your character.

It is true that one of the backbones of this game is building your character. Gaining experience in itself is not. Building your character you do the very first 80 levels. Everything after that is just additional content. If people are so deadset to get to 100, no one is holding you back. But keep in mind it will be hard and difficult. But dont use the argument at that point you are still "building" your character when it is already completed a long time ago.

Those maps were designed from the beginning to be tradable objects which you can roll as hard as you want with the benefit of an additional loot drop multiplier. Guess newer players didn't get the memo. Keep in mind that the game currently ENDS at act 4. GGG should put the credits back in to notify that the GAME ended. You know have the option to reroll or play additional content if you so wish (in the form of boss runs or maps).

After such an absurd assertion they are not reason to continue reading...
This is absolutely false!!!

Please, elaborate.(I'm not sarcastic. I would really like to know)

Elaborate? WTF!!!

I'm the proof. Self-found player. The only reason to play this online (at least for me) is because does not have offline. You multiplayer players are so used to playing all online that forget that everything can be done without the others.
Bethesda is known for having good ideas and terrible realization of them. GGG is a Bethesda subsidiary or what?

I did hundreds if not thousands of baal runs. And I enjoyed it much more than POE shit map system.

You can do thousands of Dominus, Piety, Voll, Malachai, .... runs in PoE. What is holding you back?
