Give everyone 1 or 2 passive skill tree RESETS

Maybe a one time request reward for a reset per character would be the way to go.

As an aside, there should be a dialog when you click on a skill to verify that's the one you want to use (yes/no kind of thing). Nothing more frustrating than to accidentaly click on a skill path you didn't intend to :D
Fully unlocking respecs is one thing, but giving 1-2 resets after a major game balance changing patch is another.

I still believe there should have been more than 1 reset given out considering the changes 9.4 brought in.

I still think more people than not are going to be playing with their friends get into the 30's find out that they made pretty crappy choices, and instead of re-rolling and trying again(while getting left behind by their friends) they will just quit forever. I know myself and many of the people I know are on the edge of adding this game to our list of long term games we put years into, but a hatred of build/test will kill our long term interest.
How badly do you expect these people to have screwed up their builds? I'm sure people will place a few passives they later regret, but that's exactly what respec points from quests and currency are for. I don't think most people would actually end up with a build that they can't save, because a) they'll be able to respec small mistakes, and b) if they have to leave a couple of passive points in the wrong place until they happen across more respecs, that's not going to be enough to make their character unplayable and mean they're left behind by their friends.

you could be wrong. I am a perfectionist when it comes to these builds when i am dedicated to a game and i'm sure many hardcore gamers are. Especially when PVP comes into play the tree is gonna be so important, that if u screw it up from the start u can be doomed forever. Simply just make it possible to change a few points is not gonna cut it for alot of people. Than again, the really dedicated people dont really care to just make a new character. Leveling in this game from 0 to 60 doesn't take ages anyway. I'm just starting new characters now, trying each class and some different builds :)

My suggestion ,

Why not optain, after each difficulty completed,a reset point ( that we can stack ) as reward ?

i have to say im against any free respec. maybe only just after each patch - even if the tree isnt changed. basically people who want to change something could make it and people who dont want changes will follow their route again.
i got my beta key from Icoblablubb - vielen danke !!!

the first (and only?) 6 linked blue sox on magic armor in beta :P
I won't play this game in the final version if it has no respec (for free, not as a payitem of course).
Have no time & fun to play same char again if I missclick or find out that passive-tree X is bad.

The Diablo 2-respec mechanic is nice, I would like to see something similiar here later.

well even if this is a feature to pay it would be ok.
it's not a pay-to-win thing. because you can make a new char any time and skill it perfectly.

there have to be some things that can be bought in the shop or the game would not last long... the devs have to pay their bills like everyone of us.

i just dont want to see the uber epics in an itemshop or some strange scrolls for faster run, more xp and that crap.

For me a respec is standard for a game since 2008, so without it, I move along to the next game where I don't have to grind half the game again to test skills/passives (Act 1+2 in PoE are extremly boring and annoying, compared to Diablo2/Sacred1+2 and especially Titan Quest!)

And shopitems from my point of view should only be cosmetic stuff, but I've never seen a company keeping the shop this way in a Free2Play-game.
So I'm just waiting for the time when there will be more items then cosmetic stuff in the shop and then I'll move along ......
Too many companies fucked their game into a Pay2Win and I've only paid once for such a game and that was i huge mistake I'll never do again.
I will never spend cash in a F2P-game, because
1: it's just stuff I don't need or
2: it's stuff making my char better then the other freeplayer and I won't support such things

I had hope that POE comes out as a normal game for 20-30€ like Torchlight 2 will, but with this salemodel my wallet is closed for eternity.

Should probably wait and see what the shop actually has before you start deciding what is and what isn't worth buying. Just my 2 cents.
