Spectre - ''Tiers'' and what to use

I was afraid of the revs due to nerfs (I created summoner in warbands post nerf) but I have to say I'm glad I tried them instead of what I was going to do and go back to the evangs (tho I do miss the bubble of safety, not getting around it).

Very nice dps and they are fast. And yes, my summoner uses firestorm to direct attacks and cast dual curses.
Censored.
well its a totems issue, just like totems , it is not that revs are amazing... it is that everything really is that shit.
Bubble bro for life!

Thankfully, the bleed bros also have a built in pierce and a decent base damage which qualifies them as good specters , independent of the bleed (this is of course prior to the all act4 mobs nerf).

Reveneants used to be this answer, however this is less so now because they no longer hit enough targets. their damage is fine. but that loss of 2 projectiles savagely murdered their synergy with chain. In short they lost the edge in terms of hitting as many targets as possible.

so the question is now, do the knitted bros have enough damage AND enough coverage to out class revenants.

the answer is saddly still... no because revenants do one absolutely massive thing that almost no other specter does. they bloody fire from a reasonable distance and they fire often. pretty much every other *cough* ranged specter has to be in at best casual conversation distance and at worst nipple rubbing distance.

knitted horrors in particular get so damn close that there is a 50/50 chance they will argo something and get dragged into melee (which they suck at).

I spent half the day running maps with knitted horrors and the other half with revenants and Ive got to say I agree with you. I find revenants are usually attacking something while knitted horrors need to get into range first which really hurts their dps and because revenants can attack from a much further range they also stay alive a lot longer. Its really noticeable with all the crazy mods going on in temp league atm where some beyond bosses wipe out all my knitted horrors in one shot.

The best spectres seem to be:

1. Evangelists (Nice protection with the bubble and decent damage. Decent ai too. They attack often) Only downside is that it's hard getting higher level ones than the Sceptre of god. Takes a while.

2. Revenants (Decent damage and good ai. They back away from melee attackers while firing their projectiles. Nice!) Harvest ones are level 70. Higher level than sentinels and evangelists.

3. Flame sentinels (Decent damage and good ai. They fire all the time and have pretty high life. A bonus for being immune to ground effects) Only downside is same as Evangelists. Hard to get higher level ones.

Everything else suffers from bad ai or bad damage (like the arctic breath cats preferring to go into melee combat. Or some other ranged types of monsters just standing about doing nothing/running around not attacking.

I haven't tried the lantern monsters yet.
